A magic trick that turns a round hole in a newspaper into a square one

It’s a magic trick where you fold a newspaper, make a circular cut with scissors, and when you unfold it, the hole turns out to be square instead of round.
In reality, a second sheet of newspaper—already prepared with a square hole—is layered over the one being cut on the spot, and it’s cleverly concealed.
How you fold the square-hole newspaper is also crucial; fold it in a way that keeps the scissors from touching that side.
To avoid revealing that there are two layers, choose a newspaper that looks very similar and align them snugly so there are no gaps.
A card prediction magic trick using a newspaper

There are quite a few card tricks where you guess the card your spectator picked, but this one doesn’t simply name the card—it combines a newspaper with the cards.
You prepare a deck and a newspaper, then casually say, “I’ll use a newspaper,” and cut off the corner of a newspaper folded into quarters.
You have the spectator choose a card, but you’ve set it up so they will select the Two of Diamonds.
Use whatever forcing method you find easiest to ensure that choice.
Then thoroughly mix that card back into the deck.
You ask, “Is this the card you chose?” and show a random card.
Of course, it’s wrong, so they say no.
Then you open the newspaper… The cut-off corners have formed two diamond shapes, so you say, “It’s the Two of Diamonds, right?” In other words, you reveal the chosen card through the shape cut into the newspaper.
A scarf appears from a newspaper and is tied inside the newspaper magic

Here’s a mysterious magic trick using a newspaper and scarves.
First, you show a newspaper to prove there’s no gimmick, then poke a hole in it with your finger…
and, incredibly, scarves start appearing one after another from the hole.
Next, you take a different sheet of newspaper, roll it into a triangular cone, and place the scarves that appeared earlier into it one by one.
Then, from the opposite end of the rolled newspaper, the scarves that should have gone in separately come out tied together in a chain! It’s an impossible-looking phenomenon that’s sure to amaze your audience.
In fact, it seems there’s a set available for performing this trick, so if you’re interested, try looking for it at magic shops or online.
By the way, if you hide the scarves in your sleeve, it looks like you can pull off the part where the scarves appear from the newspaper.

A magic trick where a plastic bottle wrapped in newspaper disappears

This is a magic trick where a plastic bottle wrapped in newspaper gets crumpled as if it were empty.
The key point is that after wrapping it with the newspaper, only the cap is visible; this cap is a separate piece that has been cleverly moved onto the top of the newspaper tube.
Then you draw the audience’s attention to the cap, drop the bottle’s main body out from the bottom, and forcefully crush the tube.
Be mindful of your angles so the bottle’s drop isn’t visible, and make sure to control the audience’s gaze effectively.
Zigzag Newspaper

Let me introduce the “Zigzag Newspaper” magic trick that makes you squint and want to watch it over and over, wondering, “What on earth is going on?” You insert a folded newspaper into a black frame that looks like a grid with six squares in a row.
Then, even though the newspaper shouldn’t be cut, it looks as if it is—one of the squares inside the grid can be moved.
At this point you might think the newspaper has been cut, but when you take it out of the black frame, it’s completely intact.
It’s a mystery-packed trick.
The video doesn’t reveal the secret, so this is just a guess, but it seems likely there’s some special mechanism in the black frame.
If you watch the video repeatedly, you might figure out how it works.

A magic trick where you pour water onto a newspaper and it doesn’t soak through.

I’m going to introduce a magic trick where you pour water onto a newspaper but the paper doesn’t get soggy.
First, prepare a newspaper folded eight times.
Hold it in one hand and pour water onto it from a cup—normally the newspaper would get soaked and sticky, right? But with this trick, the newspaper doesn’t get wet at all.
Even if you open it up, there isn’t a single drop on it.
Pretty mysterious, isn’t it? Here’s the secret: from the front, the newspaper hides it, but you’re actually holding a cup inside.
You’re just pouring the water into the cup, so the newspaper doesn’t get wet at all.
You’ll need to practice so the cup is never seen, but it’s easy enough for beginners to try.
Give it a go!
A cup that disappears into a newspaper

The Disappearing Cup? Here’s a magic trick where a cup that should be inside a sheet of newspaper seems to vanish, as if by magic.
First, prepare a single sheet of newspaper and a clear glass cup.
Place the cup upside down on the table and cover it with the newspaper to mold the shape.
Finally, give the newspaper a quick tap, and the cup appears to vanish, leaving the newspaper flattened.
The secret is very simple: while you show the inside of the newspaper, saying, “The cup hasn’t vanished yet,” you swiftly pull the cup out and rest it on your lap.
This does require a bit of practice, since dropping the cup on the floor would be a major fail.
It’s a very easy-to-understand trick, so even kids can enjoy it.
