Songs with titles starting with “No” (Perfect for karaoke and shiritori!)

You probably can’t immediately think of many song titles that start with “no,” can you?

There are relatively many words you don’t often hear in everyday life, and lots of them have English titles.

Things like “Nobody…,” “Note,” “NOT…,” and so on.

There are also memorable masterpiece tracks that symbolize the artists themselves.

I’ve put together a list of song titles that might be useful when you want to look something up—just a bit…!

Feel free to use it not only when you’re curious about what songs start with “no,” but also as a prompt for shiritori word games or when choosing songs at karaoke.

drink communication (nomi-nication)Ketsumeishi

This song vividly conjures up a showdown between boss and subordinate at a company drinking party.

The way they unleash their pent-up frustrations in a rap-battle style is downright exhilarating—you’ll find yourself nodding, thinking, “So true!” The track was included on the album Ketsunopolis 11, released in October 2018.

If you’re feeling a bit worn out by your relationships with your boss or your team, listening to this might help you laugh it off with a “Well, whatever!” It could also be perfect for belting out with coworkers at karaoke.

No more warGReeeeN

GReeeeN is a four-member vocal group that has released numerous hit songs since their debut, including “Aiuta” and “Kiseki.” The track “no more war,” featured on their second album “Ah, Hello Again,” opens with a guitar arpeggio intro whose melancholy lingers in your ears.

Its message, weaving sorrow and anger over innocent children losing their lives because of a few foolish adults, prompts us to reflect on the gravity of the future that war steals away.

With rap lines layered over a deep, textured ensemble and a driving, uplifting chorus, it’s a song that truly stirs the heart.

know me…Yagi Kairi

It’s a moving song themed around a past you don’t want to touch and emotions buried deep within the heart.

Serving as the ending theme for the TV anime “Undead Unluck,” it was released on October 14, 2023.

Kairi Yagi wrote and composed the song herself, fully showcasing her delicate sensibilities.

The unique sound, which fuses acoustic and electronic elements, blends beautifully with Yagi’s crystalline vocals.

It’s a track I especially recommend to anyone struggling with relationships or wishing someone would understand their true self.

This song incorporates Taku Toki’s experience of being bullied in middle school and closing himself off, but eventually regaining his smile through encounters with fans and the people around him.

Listening to it makes your heart ache, but at the same time a warm feeling washes over you.

THE BLUE HEARTS – Happy-go-lucky
airheadedTHE BLUE HEARTS

A single that gently loosens a taut heart, carrying the warmth of a voice that seems to say, “It’s okay to rest.” It’s said that Masatoshi Mashima, who wrote and composed the song, created it when he was feeling the pressure of a major hit and had fallen into a state where he “didn’t feel like himself.” The piece captures the comfort of emptying your mind under a clear blue sky.

This track, included on the classic album “BUST WASTE HIP” released in September 1990, has won over many fans with its light, airy sound.

If you listen to it when you’re feeling a bit worn out by the bustle of daily life, it might just clear away the haze in your heart.

Noble Rosenejishiki

This is a captivating song with a decadent yet beautiful worldview, where one dances nobly while holding on to a love on the verge of breaking.

Created by Nejishiki, it passionately portrays the intertwining voices of Yuzuki Yukari and IA as they sink into a sweet and dangerous romance.

The jazzy, glamorous sound arrangement is absolutely wonderful.

If you’re drawn to the push and pull of perilous love and mysterious relationships, you’ll surely find yourself deeply resonating with this worldview.
