Fishing game

Fishing games are also recommended as day-service recreational activities.
For those with fishing experience, they offer a chance to reminisce, and for those without, they provide a sense of accomplishment.
The simplicity of using a rod with a magnet to catch fish with paper clips is part of the charm.
You can even choose fish that are in season at that time.
Of course, starting from making the fish out of construction paper and similar materials can make it even more engaging.
Intro Quiz

An intro quiz is a classic game often seen on quiz shows where you play the opening part of a song and guess its title.
Remembering which song it is can help boost concentration and stimulate the brain.
Another plus is that it’s easy to do if you have CDs or recordings.
It’s best to choose familiar songs you listened to when you were younger.
It’s also wonderful to have people share their memories about the songs that were used in the quiz afterward!
Bean-throwing season’s “Hit, Put On, Rock-Paper-Scissors, Pon!”

‘Whack-a-Helmet Rock-Paper-Scissors’ is a game everyone played as a kid.
You play rock-paper-scissors; the winner tries to whack the loser on the head, and the loser tries to block it before getting hit.
People often use a squeaky toy hammer as the striking tool, but to get into the Setsubun spirit, let’s try using an oni’s club instead.
Of course, it’s just a soft, inflatable club, so there’s no need to worry about injuries.
Even so, just in case, the loser should defend themselves with a cushion or a helmet.
The first person to land a hit on their opponent wins.
Lots of balloon volleyball

Sixth Sense – Reol
In many senior care facilities, balloon volleyball is often played with just one balloon.
Try boldly increasing the number of balloons.
Balloons are light, so even attaching about ten is fine.
Using balloons in various colors is also recommended.
Seniors may find it refreshing to play volleyball with something made from many balloons.
If you have the seniors sit on chairs in a circle and place a tosser in the center, rallies tend to last longer.
As the number of balloons increases, the whole thing becomes larger, which might also make it easier for seniors to make attacks.
High-five relay
@wakuwaku_idea No equipment needed! Super easy, quick, and fun! High-Five Relay#SeniorActivitiesInterestingTranslationrelay
♪ Original song – Idea Wakuwaku Rehabilitation – Idea Wakuwaku Rehabilitation
It’s a game where you pass along high-fives to the next person, aiming to reach the final teammate before the opposing team does.
After doing five high-fives with the next person, you move on to the following one, so the speed of your arm movements is put to the test.
However, even if one side is fast, it won’t count as a high-five unless the hands meet, so a sense of cooperation is also crucial.
It might be important not to focus too much on clearing the game, but to share the fun of high-fiving as well.

Volleyball using a bigger balloon than a regular one is really exciting, isn’t it? Older adults will probably see the big balloon and think, “Wow, that’s huge!” By calling out to each other to keep the rally going and helping toss the big balloon, everyone can cooperate more, which may increase interaction among participants.
Placing a table in the center makes it easier to keep the rally going.
Since big-balloon volleyball sometimes uses both hands, it also helps move the body in a well-balanced way on the left and right.
Giant Balloon Volleyball
@binsannohige It was a balloon activity 🎈 We put five balloons in a trash bag to make one giant balloon. Everyone got really spirited (lol). One of the great things about balloon volleyball is that you can adapt it using everyday items.
Try a supersized version by putting five inflated balloons into a clear trash bag.
It’s especially fun and colorful if each balloon is a different color.
Have older adults seated in chairs rally the giant balloon back and forth.
You can arrange everyone in a circle, or split into two teams for a head-to-head match to make it even more exciting.
Because the balloon is so big, the amount of force you use may feel different than usual.
That difference—and the novelty—are part of what makes this game enjoyable.
