Youth’s Flower PathPorunogurafiti

The title of this song is the very embodiment of youth.
It sublimates the excess energy and frustrations unique to young people into a brilliant rock sound.
Even listeners today, I think, wouldn’t find it dated and would be able to see it as a song of their own.
loveback number

The rock band that teenagers today relate to the most is back number.
To a middle-aged person like me, they just look like a band blatantly influenced by Western music, but for teenagers, who still have limited experience and knowledge, a band like this probably seems exciting.
SEE OFFBRAHMAN

A song I sang my heart out to in my youth because English tracks sounded so cool—even though I didn’t understand the meaning.
The guitar-driven sound is awesome, and it’s still a classic I want to listen to now.
When you translate the lyrics into Japanese, it can feel like it’s about endings, but there’s a philosophical edge to it that’s also really cool.
A highly recommended track for bands, too.
Smells Like Teen SpiritNirvana

Many junior high and high school students who listened to Western music in the late ’90s likely started with this song.
As one of Nirvana’s signature tracks, it begins with Kurt Cobain’s languid vocals and builds up to a scream in the latter half.
cherry blossomnobobyknows̟+

Among the many songs themed around cherry blossoms, this one doesn’t stand out much, but it’s a hidden gem.
It captures the aesthetics of parting—like petals falling—through the lens of romance, and although the upbeat tempo might seem mismatched with the bittersweet lyrics, they blend beautifully.
The way it channels the frustration of being unable to express oneself into rap feels like a privilege of youth.
Endless road19

The fourth single by 19, a duo formed after two people from Hiroshima Prefecture met in their hometown.
Listening to it again after a long time brought back the bittersweet mistakes of that era and the memory of how I was just a clueless kid, and it made my chest ache.
When it comes to my youth anthem, this is the song.
Back then, 19 were true icons.
I think all the young people listened with sparkling eyes.
rainbowAqua Timez

You probably know it because it was the theme song for a TV drama.
The driving band sound and the husky high-toned voice of the vocalist, Taishi, evoke a fresh sense of youth.
I really want students in the midst of their youth to listen to it.
