[Thank You] Classic songs expressing gratitude to parents. Beloved numbers across generations (91–100)
Ring the bellpush-pull pot

There are probably some people who grew up, moved out, and don’t get to go back home very often.
For them, I’d like to introduce “Kane o Narashite.” The song is by the rock band Push Pull Pot.
It carries vocalist Daiki Yamaguchi’s feelings of gratitude toward his parents back in his distant hometown.
Another highlight is its letter-like structure that begins with “Dear Sir/Madam.” Despite that, the overall performance is powerful, making it an energizing piece.
That’s why I recommend listening to it when you’re feeling lonely.
Omouta ~Thinking of Parents~Kiyosaku (MONGOL800)

As the title suggests, it’s a message song that expresses gratitude to one’s parents.
Created by Kiyosaku, the bassist and vocalist of the rock band MONGOL800, it was released in 2020.
The warm, richly textured sound pairs perfectly with Kiyosaku’s unadorned vocals, letting the emotions woven into the lyrics reach your ears just as they are.
You might find yourself thinking, “I’m usually too shy to say it, but next time I see my parents, I’ll make sure to thank them properly.”
Mom’s backIrihi Akane

This work, featuring Akane Irihi’s heartfelt vocals, warmly portrays the bond between mother and child.
From the perspective of a child growing up while watching a hardworking mom’s back, the mother’s figure is depicted with tenderness.
As an anthem cheering on moms who juggle parenting and work, it resonates with many.
Included on the album “And I Am the One Who Opens This Door,” released in May 2014, the song conveys a mother’s love alongside beautiful piano melodies.
It’s a piece you’ll want to play at weddings, on Mother’s Day, and in any moment when you wish to express gratitude to your parents.
Dad.haji→

This is a song by Haji→, a singer-songwriter from Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture.
It’s a ballad expressing gratitude to his father, included on the 2016 album “Cho-Hajibam 3.” With its relaxed tempo, it’s a heartwarming listen.
Eternal MemoriesCrystal Kay

Crystal Kay is a female singer who earns high praise from critics for her powerful vocals and sophisticated musical sensibilities.
While her early work centered on R&B, she’s recently been exploring Black music styles like trap and neo-soul.
Among her songs, the one I especially recommend is Eternal Memories.
Rather than a straightforward expression of gratitude to her parents, the lyrics feel more like she’s reexamining the parts of herself that couldn’t be honest in the past.
Paired with the melody, it all comes together to create a highly dreamlike atmosphere.
