Ranking of Popular House and Techno Songs
The straight-ahead path of dance music: four-on-the-floor.
Known overseas as “four on the floor,” it’s considered the standard rhythm of the dance floor.
Among the most timeless forms of electronic music are house and techno.
Built primarily with synthesizers, sequencers, and samplers, these genres continue to evolve, changing shape with the times.
Since 2015, we’ve seen the rise of new scenes: comparatively mellow, modern-leaning EDM like future house; hard techno that hosts massive festivals around the world; and tech house, an extremely groovy style that bridges house and techno.
This time, we’ll introduce the most popular tracks on our site in a ranked format.

Popular House/Techno Songs Ranking (11–20)
TendencyJan Jelinek11rank/position

Musician Jan Jelinek, also known as the founder of the German label Faitiche, is characterized by meticulously crafted sound—almost artisanal in its precision—created by sampling jazz from the 1960s and 1970s and reconstructing fragments of those sounds second by second.
You can clearly sense that appeal when listening to the track “Tendency,” which I’m introducing today.
It’s included on the 2001 album Loop-Finding-Jazz-Records.
Take ControlKREAM12rank/position

This track by the Norwegian brother duo KREAM features a dark, powerful sound with floor-shaking bass.
They are known as accomplished artists with worldwide popularity in melodic house.
The song seems to portray a thrilling battle for control in a romantic relationship and the exhilaration of unleashing hidden passion.
The polished beat feels like an expression of a strong will to regain emotional control.
Released in March 2021, it earned high praise from experts, including a nomination for House Song of the Year at the EDMAs.
How about giving it a listen during a nighttime city drive when you’re in the mood to feel a bit bold?
Why So SeriousTha Playah13rank/position

This is a piece that features the film The Dark Knight.
It’s a track by The Player, a Dutch musician active as a music producer and DJ, included on the 2009 album Walking The Line.
Combining the heavy, pressure-packed sound typical of gabber with what seem to be sampled lines from the movie, it crafts a truly dark atmosphere.
It’s a hardcore number that, the longer you listen, makes you feel as though you’ve somehow been swallowed up by the sound.
Blackbox Life Recorder 21fAphex Twin14rank/position

A maverick of the electronic music world, Richard D.
James, better known as Aphex Twin, has been an iconic figure in electronica, continuously reshaping the histories of techno and ambient since the 1990s.
The title track of his 2023 EP “Blackbox Life Recorder 21f / In a Room7 F760” drew attention as his first official new song in five years.
Its sound—where dry-textured, irregular beats intertwine with melancholic synthesizer melodies—embodies a restrained beauty distinct from ferocious breakcore.
Celebrated as a standout track and known for its nomination at the 66th Grammy Awards, it’s an ideal piece for nights when you want to listen closely to the details of the sound, or when you wish to sink into calm immersion.
LAY YOUR HANDS ON MEBOOM BOOM SATELLITES15rank/position

BOOM BOOM SATELLITES was a Japanese rock duo active from 1999 to 2016.
“LAY YOUR HANDS ON ME” was their final single, and it was used as the opening theme for Kiznaiver.
