Idol Song Rankings [2026]

It’s interesting how idols keep diversifying as times change, isn’t it?

The trend has shifted from the past, and idol songs have spread even among people who used to have nothing to do with idols.

Now they’ve become popular music listened to by many.

This time, I’d like to introduce a ranking of idol songs that have been widely listened to since the start of this year.

Although it’s a B-side track to the third single “Grandeur,” released in January 2021, this popular song even received its own music video.

Its positive message about pushing forward through adversity and its brisk, refreshing sound really resonate.

It’s also been used as the theme song for the TBS variety show “Sore Snow Man ni Yarasete Kudasai” and in commercials for Apaman Shop, so many people have probably heard it.

With its uptempo, catchy beat and parts everyone can get excited about together, it’s perfect for singing energetically at karaoke.

It’s an energetic cheer song that gently gives a push to anyone taking on a challenge.

The song “Ai no Katamari,” included as the B-side to the 13th single “Hey! Minna Genki-kai?”, was used in a Morinaga “DARS” commercial.

With lyrics by Tsuyoshi Domoto and composition by Koichi Domoto, it became a turning point for the group.

Overall, the vocal range is narrow and the key is low, but be careful with the melody in the chorus, which shifts between chest voice and falsetto and can easily cause pitch errors.

It’s a pop tune with sentimental lyrics you’ll want to savor as you sing—great to perform either solo or as a duo.

Shuji to Akira was a limited-time duo formed by Kazuya Kamenashi, who played Shuji Kiritani, and Tomohisa Yamashita, who played Akira Kusano, in the TV drama “Nobuta wo Produce.” Their theme song for the drama, “Seishun Amigo,” features a memorable, wistful ensemble created in collaboration with a Swedish songwriting team.

Overall, the key is low and the vocal range isn’t wide, making it easy to sing, but the melody has quite a lot of movement, so be sure to learn it well before performing.

It’s a cool pop tune with a hard-boiled aesthetic that we’d love to see you hype up in karaoke together with the dance.

Created as the theme song for the TV drama “Saisho wa Paa,” starring SixTONES member Jesse, this track is a rousing anthem that powerfully pushes the backs of those chasing their dreams.

Released in November 2022 as one of the title tracks on the double A-side single “Good Luck!/Futari,” its relentlessly bright sound and forward-looking message will lighten your heart.

Even if you fail, it’s fine as long as you end with a smile—those straightforward lyrics that make you feel that way are truly appealing.

It’s the perfect song for anyone taking on something new or when you just want a boost of energy.

Just listening to it will help you face forward!

SMAP’s “Sekai ni Hitotsu Dake no Hana” is a smash hit that everyone finds familiar and can’t help but hum along to! This song about being yourself is loved across generations for its encouraging message and simple melody.

Its easy-to-sing tune and range make it great even for karaoke beginners, and because people of all ages know it, it’s a perfect choice when you’re going to karaoke with a mixed-age group.

Also, if you learn the choreography that can be done in sign language and sing together, it really amps up the fun!

This is a classic song widely used at weddings as a love song that vows eternal love.

While it’s a grand and powerful ballad, it also incorporates pop elements, portraying gratitude and love for that one irreplaceable person in the world, accompanied by a beautiful melody.

Released in June 2008 as the 22nd single, it was selected as the theme song for the film Hana Yori Dango Final starring Jun Matsumoto, sold approximately 314,000 copies in its first week, and ranked second on Oricon’s 2008 annual singles chart.

Now a standard wedding song for couples to pledge their love, it is also one of Arashi’s more singable tracks.

Men may find the vocal range slightly high, but for women it’s a heartwarming song that can be sung steadily even through the full chorus.
