Rekishi Popular Song Rankings [2026] (41–50)
The Theory of Happinessrekishi41rank/position

The original song is Sheena Ringo’s Koufukuron, with which she made her major debut in 1998.
With Rekishi’s world in full swing, the arrangement is so brilliant it almost makes you mistake it for his own song.
Even though the lyrics are the same as the original, it changes the shape of happiness that the listener imagines.
The Last Shogun feat. Mr. Isematsu of the Forestrekishi42rank/position

I thought it was a really good song, and it turns out Takako Matsu is singing it.
Kaho appears in the music video, and Rekishi is surprisingly good at featuring cute girls.
If you listen without thinking, it’s a nice song, but then “bakufu” (the shogunate) suddenly pops up.
Play with historyrekishi43rank/position

A mostly piano-based piece that somehow leaves you feeling a little wistful.
It’s a handy study song for students who need to memorize historical dates.
I’d love to see more tracks themed around things like the 15 Tokugawa shoguns.
It’s a song I especially want high schoolers to hear.
love Benkeirekishi44rank/position

The song is about Ushiwakamaru waiting for Benkei.
It’s a love song about waiting for Benkei with affection.
Same with Imoko Now, but there are oddly a lot of male–male love song themes.
Still, since Ushiwakamaru has a somewhat androgynous image and Benkei has a rugged, masculine image, it actually fits surprisingly well.
Peri-dancingrekishi45rank/position

This is a song with a Perry-opening-Japan gag theme.
It also brings to mind old disco tracks.
The chorus is in Japanese, but it has that exquisite quality of sounding a bit like English.
This approach overlaps a little with Dansman’s style, but Rekishi is great in his own right.
