Rekishi Popular Song Rankings [2026] (31–40)
Big Brother, I Need Yourekishi36rank/position

It sounds like a ballad you might hear in old Western pop music.
At first listen, you can hardly tell whether they’re saying “I need you” or “ani-ja” (older brother)—it’s almost indistinguishable, haha.
The title is a bit of a joke, but the song itself is melodic and romantic.
Let’s go to the kofun!rekishi37rank/position

As you can guess from the title, it’s a song themed around ancient burial mounds (kofun).
It’s another dance tune that seems influenced by old disco songs.
It would be perfect as a theme song for Saga Prefecture, which has many kofun.
The musical style feels quite similar to Dance Man.
The Law of Perpetual Private Ownership of Newly Cultivated Lands (Emperor Shōmu’s 743 edict)rekishi38rank/position

The guest is Sambomaster.
It’s a super handy song that lets you memorize the year of the Handen Shuju no Hō (the law allowing permanent private ownership of reclaimed land) along with the music.
I honestly think it would’ve been really helpful to have a song like this when I was a student.
The song itself has a ballad feel and, for some reason, it’s one that can move you to tears.
Ōoku Labyrinth feat. Shakacchirekishi39rank/position

The song’s theme is the Ōoku (the women’s quarters of Edo Castle).
It’s a dance tune with cool, choppy guitar cutting.
The chorus—actually, most of the song—is in falsetto.
Rekishi’s falsetto is really pleasant.
It’s another danceable track crafted with a disco vibe he’s so good at.
It’s tough in karaoke—pretty much impossible to sing, lol.
Imouto Now feat. Mouse Kid JIROKICHIrekishi40rank/position

Kohei Dojima, famous for Katsushika Rhapsody from Kochikame, participated as a guest.
The song’s story is a love tale about someone who doesn’t realize that Ono no Imoko is actually a man.
In the end it turns into a “he’s a guy, but it doesn’t matter” gay punchline.
The track is blatantly inspired by Godiego, and at the end they even straight-up sing those lyrics.

The Theory of Happinessrekishi41rank/position

The original song is Sheena Ringo’s Koufukuron, with which she made her major debut in 1998.
With Rekishi’s world in full swing, the arrangement is so brilliant it almost makes you mistake it for his own song.
Even though the lyrics are the same as the original, it changes the shape of happiness that the listener imagines.
The Last Shogun feat. Mr. Isematsu of the Forestrekishi42rank/position

I thought it was a really good song, and it turns out Takako Matsu is singing it.
Kaho appears in the music video, and Rekishi is surprisingly good at featuring cute girls.
If you listen without thinking, it’s a nice song, but then “bakufu” (the shogunate) suddenly pops up.
