Rekishi: Let's play with history
Play with historyrekishi

A mostly piano-based piece that somehow leaves you feeling a little wistful.

It’s a handy study song for students who need to memorize historical dates.

I’d love to see more tracks themed around things like the 15 Tokugawa shoguns.

It’s a song I especially want high schoolers to hear.

The song is about Ushiwakamaru waiting for Benkei.

It’s a love song about waiting for Benkei with affection.

Same with Imoko Now, but there are oddly a lot of male–male love song themes.

Still, since Ushiwakamaru has a somewhat androgynous image and Benkei has a rugged, masculine image, it actually fits surprisingly well.

Peri Dancing feat. Shakacchi
Peri-dancingrekishi

This is a song with a Perry-opening-Japan gag theme.

It also brings to mind old disco tracks.

The chorus is in Japanese, but it has that exquisite quality of sounding a bit like English.

This approach overlaps a little with Dansman’s style, but Rekishi is great in his own right.
