the HIATUS Popular Songs Ranking [2026]

This is a project launched by Takeshi Hosomi of ELLEGARDEN, which focuses on live performances and makes few media appearances.

They drastically change their worldbuilding with each release, showing a wide range of expressions, and we’ve compiled a ranking of their popular songs.

Be sure to check it out.

the HIATUS – Thirst(Music Video)
Thirstthe HIATUS

It’s a song included on the HIATUS’s 4th album, “Keeper Of The Flame.” If I had to sum up the theme of this track in a single phrase, I would say it’s about “a person shoved into solitude.” Looking at the full Japanese-to-English translation of the lyrics, I strongly feel the portrayal of a person who bears loneliness while still yearning for a glimmer of hope.

Antibioticthe HIATUS16rank/position

This is a track included on the HIATUS’s first EP, “Insomnia.” It has a very relaxed tempo.

When you translate the lyrics into Japanese, rather than being dark, it feels overflowing with “humanity.” It’s a song I want to listen to alone.

This one is lighter and easier to listen to than “Horse Riding.” Is it West Coast-style? The drums are finely accented, giving it a sense of drive, and overall the song has a very refreshing feel.

As the title suggests, the MV shows what seems to be the protagonist appearing as two people.

This is a track included on the 5th album, “Hands Of Gravity.” It feels like a comforting song, almost like listening to a Western ballad.

My impression is that it’s a very beautiful and simple song.

This is a track included on the 1st album, “Trash We’d Love.” As expected, the gentle vocals are wonderful.

I think this song is full of hope.

Isn’t it a song that can make you feel positive and aim even higher instead of settling for the status quo?

This is a track from the album “Keeper Of The Flame,” released in 2014 by the band the HIATUS, formed around Takeshi Hosomi, who is also known as the vocalist of the rock band ELLEGARDEN.

The sound, reminiscent of traditional instruments, evokes a hint of a tropical sunset.

Walking Like A Manthe HIATUS21rank/position

This is one of the tracks included on the second album, “ANORMALY.” The lyric “I’m walking like a man” — meaning “I’m walking like an ordinary person” — also sounds to me like a declaration of not wanting to become that way.
