UNICORN Popular Song Rankings [2026] (1–10)
Working manUNICORN8rank/position

Thanks to taking on the theme song for the hugely popular variety show Aiseki Shokudo, hosted by the comedy duo Chidori, Okuda Tamio and guitarist Teshima have become better known among younger generations as well.
As you may know, UNICORN’s hit song Hataraku Otoko is one of those tracks that zooms in on the working man.
UNICORN’s song titles—like Daimēwaku and Hige to Boin—are famously quirky.
That said, even though it’s about a working man, the song’s core is Okuda Tamio’s unique approach to romance, so it doesn’t really feel like a “straight-up labor anthem.” It’s a curious track that feels almost like it’s composed in three movements.
If you haven’t heard it yet, definitely give it a listen!
The Odd CoupleUNICORN9rank/position

“Okashina Futari” (“The Odd Couple”) is a song included on UNICORN’s third album, “Hattori,” released in 1989.
The lyrics portray a lover who betrays, neglects, and lies—an exasperating partner—but without slipping into pessimism.
Instead, they express a love that is genuine and accepting: a relationship that can be read as resignation, trust, or a bond, summed up with a kind of “well, that’s okay.”
Easy RiderUNICORN10rank/position

Even as they grow older, Unicorn continues to captivate fans with their free-spirited music.
I think their sound embodies the charm of liberated adulthood—where a touch of looseness is actually cool.
They have many male fans, but I’m sure there are plenty of female Tamio fans as well.
They’re the kind of adults we admire, aren’t they?

Life is great.UNICORN11rank/position

UNICORN is a five-piece rock band whose strength lies in the fact that every member is both a vocalist and a composer, and their free-spirited approach to enjoying music has given rise to a colorful catalog of songs.
“Jinsei wa Jōjō da,” included on their third album Hattori—which cemented the band’s character—stands out for its experimental sound and impactful lyrics.
The arrangement, with the key gradually rising toward the end, is something many people have probably tried tackling at karaoke.
It’s an eccentric pop tune, the kind you rarely find in modern rock bands’ songs.
HattoriUNICORN12rank/position

A track included on UNICORN’s album Hattori, released in June 1989.
It’s a soul-tinged number marked by a hard-hitting guitar riff that portrays the stylish, laid-back confidence of a man in his thirties.
The story, which offers young listeners tips on the art of romantic give-and-take, unfolds in a distinctive narrative style, with playful, humorous lyrics that are part of its appeal.
The song stood out in the music scene at the time and became an important work that helped accelerate the band’s momentum after their debut.
The album Hattori was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of Japan and reached No.
3 on the Oricon album chart.
RAMBO N°5UNICORN13rank/position

Rather than a song, it almost sounds like an advertisement jingle for Yamagata Prefecture’s specialty cherries, and it’s basically just some slightly goofy older gentlemen almost dancing along to a mambo tune.
Unicorn is a bona fide rock band, and while most of the members are from Hiroshima Prefecture, only Abe Bee (Yoshiharu Abe) is from Yamagata, so that might be why this song came to be.
You are the sun.UNICORN14rank/position

It’s a song packed with Unicorn’s unique charm.
It was created with the Anessa tie-in in mind, and the Unicorn vibe is scattered throughout the lyrics, the title, and the PV.
When Unicorn puts together a track with their playful sense of humor, it becomes something interesting with a distinctive atmosphere that other artists don’t have.
The contrast with how cool the song sounds makes it even better.
