RIZE’s classic and popular songs

RIZE is a rock band that has led Japan’s mixture rock scene since their formation in 1997.

Many people are still captivated by their one-of-a-kind mixture sensibility, each member’s exceptional expressive power, and their charismatic presence—including their looks.

Their die-hard fans are known as “Rizers.”

What makes them so compelling are, above all, their straightforward sound, a wealth of memorable guitar riffs, and their overwhelming live performances.

Calling them cool might sound cliché, but it’s the word that suits them best.

This time, we’re going to dive into the world of RIZE!

We researched their past hits and classic tracks and carefully curated a selection.

RIZE’s classic and popular songs (21–30)

PARTY HOUSERIZE

PARTY HOUSERIZE

This is the title track from the 17th digital-only single, “PARTY HOUSE,” released in 2015.

It features breakbeats throughout, and even weaves in a blisteringly fast slap-bass solo in the middle—an aggressively forward-driving song.

It’s a must at live shows, and even just listening to it will make you want to start dancing.

SILVERRIZE

From the very beginning, this track packs a punch with an explosive display of ultra-advanced bass technique.

The vocals are less rap-oriented, giving the song a distinct structure, but the real highlight is undeniably the masterful bass work woven throughout.

Get swept away by the wild, unrestrained bass that feels anything but typical for Japan.

ANSWERRIZE

It’s a mid-tempo alternative rock track included on their third album, “Natural Vibes.” From a guitar-scratching intro, it slips into a quiet rap section before exploding again—RIZE’s own take on a passionate, high-energy rock song.

RIZE IN YA AREARIZE

This is the opening track of the fourth album, “Spit & Yell,” released under their own label, TENSAIBAKA RECORDS.

It marked their first CD release in a while, and with this short song shouting “RIZE is here,” RIZE declared their comeback.

OWTKASTRIZE

OWTKASTRIZE

This is a track from their fourth album, Spit & Yell, released in 2005.

It is also the last work to feature the previous bassist, u:zo.

The visuals of a devil-like giant devouring a city leave a somewhat fleeting impression—suggestive of RIZE, who had made a comeback around this time but still seemed to be smoldering under the surface.

PARADOX gymnasticsRIZE

With a crackling, resonant bassline, ferocious guitar riffs, and aggressive drum phrases, this track explodes with RIZE’s signature style right from the intro.

But it’s not just a cool, high-energy number—it’s also a biting, irony-laden song that calls out environmental issues.

This is the eighth single, released in 2003, created in collaboration with Def Tech.

It opens with a rap by JESSE, and the chorus features a beautiful melody by Def Tech’s Micro and Shen.

The music video, which tells a story about connecting over long distances through a manhole and singing together, is a must-see.
