Then tape the marbles to them—and you’re done! It’s also super easy to play.

Wind the two rubber bands as tightly as you can and let go, and it will spin! If you wind them firmly, it will even spin in reverse.

[DIY you can play with] Rubber band gun! Just stick in 2 spots! Super easy! [Plastic bottle] Handmade toy
rubber band gun

Here’s how to make an easy rubber band gun! You don’t need chopsticks—just common household items—so it’s highly recommended.

Materials: a small plastic bottle, a clothespin, origami paper, vinyl (electrical) tape, and scissors.

Since you won’t be using chopsticks, the steps are very simple.

First, tape the clothespin onto the small plastic bottle using vinyl tape.

Once the bottle and clothespin are firmly attached, wrap origami paper around the bottle’s mouth so it’s about the same size.

Flatten the excess tip of the origami paper, open the clothespin, hook a rubber band onto the tip of the origami paper, and you’re done! When you release the clothespin, the rubber band shoots out! It’s cute and easy to make, so try making it with your kids and have fun playing together.

Let’s use our imagination! Here’s how to make a bear doll using a towel and rubber bands.

All you need is a towel and a few rubber bands.

To make it, roll the towel tightly from both ends toward the center, then twist and fold it.

Open up the layered side to shape it, and secure the neck area with a rubber band.

Refine the shape and use rubber bands to pinch and secure the ear parts, and you’re done! The key is to keep shaping it while picturing the finished bear.

It would be fun to create together with kids and see if you can make other animals too.

Give it a try!

Here’s a simple craft you can make with rubber bands! You can create a fun toy that launches a paper cup.

You’ll need two paper cups, cellophane tape, vinyl (electrical) tape, scissors, and about three rubber bands.

The steps are very easy: First, temporarily hold the two paper cups together with cellophane tape and then wrap them with vinyl tape.

Next, link the rubber bands by looping them together.

While firmly holding the linked rubber bands in place, wrap them onto the vinyl tape.

Hold the wound rubber bands in your hand and let go of the paper cups—off they fly! Adults can enjoy this too, so be sure to make it with the kids.

Flapping toy

[Iwa-Mama’s Home Experiment] Rampaging on the Desk! Wildly Dancing Straws
Flapping toy

Straws dance on your desk! Let me introduce a flapping toy.

You’ll need bendable straws, a hairpin, a rubber band, and scissors.

To make it, bend two straws and trim them to the same length.

Next, cut one of the straws slightly longer than the rubber band, and thread a hairpin with a rubber band through the straw.

After you pass both ends of the rubber band through the straws, twist them around and you’re ready! When you let go, the straws start to dance—it’s really fun.

Make several and the fun multiplies.

Give it a try!
