Which is bigger, Earth or Venus?

The Earth's diameter is about 12,756 km, and Venus's is about 12,103 km, so Venus is roughly 95% the size of Earth. In addition to size, its mass is also similar at 0.82 times that of Earth, and its gravity is of a similar strength.

Which is larger in area, Hokkaido or Sri Lanka?

Hokkaido

Hokkaido has an area of about 83,000 km², and Sri Lanka has an area of about 65,000 km². There’s a pun that goes, “Hokkaido wa dekkai do” (meaning “Hokkaido is huge”), and it’s true—Hokkaido really is big. There are actually many countries around the world that are smaller in area than Hokkaido.

Which is wider, the 1,000-yen bill or the 10,000-yen bill?

The width of a 1,000-yen bill is 15 cm, and the width of a 10,000-yen bill is 16 cm. Incidentally, the height is standardized at 7.6 cm for all bills. It's interesting that while the denomination and size are proportional for banknotes, that's not the case for coins.

Which is bigger, the Sapporo TV Tower or the Kyoto Tower?

While the Sapporo TV Tower is 147 meters tall and Kyoto Tower stands at 131 meters, comparing the observation decks shows that Sapporo TV Tower’s is about 90 meters high, whereas Kyoto Tower’s is 100 meters—meaning Kyoto Tower’s observation deck is higher.

Which is bigger, the giant panda or the brown bear?

While the giant panda’s body length is about 150 cm, the brown bear’s can reach nearly 3 meters at maximum. In Japan, brown bears inhabit Hokkaido, and some individuals are said to weigh as much as 500 kg.
