A piano produces sound when hammers, which move by pressing the keys, strike the strings inside. The loudness changes depending on how strongly the hammers hit the strings. The pitch is adjusted by the length and thickness of the strings.

Playing with short, detached notes

Staccato is a musical symbol that looks like a dot placed above or below a note, and it means to play the note short and detached. Playing notes smoothly connected is called a “slur,” and playing a note with strong emphasis is called an “accent.”

Determine the placement of notes in the high register

The treble clef indicates that G (sol) is located on the second line of the staff. It is generally used in sheet music for instruments that produce higher pitches, such as the violin and the flute.

Violin bows typically use horse tail hair. This hair has strength and elasticity, making it suitable for properly rubbing the strings to produce a beautiful sound. Pig and sheep hair are rarely used for this purpose.
