Popular comedy and manzai bits that elementary school kids will love. Simple one-liner gags.

We’ve put together a collection of one-shot gags and comedy bits that are guaranteed to be a hit with elementary school kids!

This time, in addition to stand-up comedians, we’ll also introduce material from popular YouTubers.

We’ve gathered a ton—from old-school classics that always get laughs from grade-schoolers to trending routines from today’s comedians.

When performing in front of kids, the key points are to make your movements and voice big, and dive in with confidence—don’t be shy, no matter what the bit is.

Routines with exaggerated movements or songs are easy for kids to understand, so they’re highly recommended.

Use the examples we introduce as a reference, and try creating your own original material too!

That doesn’t matter.Yoshio Kojima

That doesn't matter. Yoshio Kojima

Recently, Yoshio Kojima has been doing well on YouTube, too.

His talent as a comedian is well established—he’s received the Encouragement Award at the 5th Owarai Hope Grand Prize and was the runner-up in the 2016 R-1 Grand Prix.

Of course, it depends on the time and place, but if you’ve got the courage to go shirtless or wear just swim trunks, Yoshio Kojima’s routines are a great pick.

If the “Sonna no Kankei Nee” song starts playing, every elementary school kid might jump up and start dancing! For school sports days and similar events, the “Yoshio’s Alpus Ichiman-Jaku” dance is also recommended!

This is bad.Tetsurō Degawa

Tetsurō Degawa suddenly begins
This is bad. Tetsuro Degawa

The man who was ranked No.

1 on the “least dateable men” list over a decade ago has now become a beloved household favorite.

I think it’s all thanks to Degawa-san’s hard work.

Apparently, if elementary school kids don’t watch the Sunday night TV show “Itte Q! to the Ends of the World,” they can’t join in the conversations on Monday.

He’s hugely popular with kids, too.

Degawa-san’s catchphrase “Yabai yo, yabai yo” is what he says when something unexpected happens.

Even a slightly serious scene seems like it could turn around with that one line.

Other lines like “Whyyyy?” and “Real gachi” are sure to be a hit with elementary schoolers as well!

It’s got a strong quirkNobu (Chidori)

[Chidori x Kamaitachi Hour] Their Signature Move: “The Quirk Is Strong!”
It’s got a strong quirk Chidori Nobu

It’s one of the punchlines Nobu from Chidori uses, the kind he throws out while being a bit taken aback by someone’s gag.

It’s perfect when someone is acting way out of character or when a really strong joke hits, and it also works as a filler when you can’t instantly think of the ideal comeback.

It only works if the other person’s gag is strong, so keep an eye on the direction of the joke as you use it.

Since it’s a simple line that just points out how quirky it is, it’s important to be particular about the timing and delivery.

Sunshine Ikezaki: “Unprecedented and unparalleled!”
unprecedented and unrepeatable Sunshine Ikezaki

Sunshine Ikezaki’s routine is perfect as a one-shot gag.

The lines are a bit long, but since it’s a self-introduction bit, it should be easy to memorize.

If you say it loudly and clearly, it’s sure to be a big hit in the classroom.

As an adaptation, it’s also great to deliver your own self-introduction in the Sunshine Ikezaki style.

GoigoisuDiane Tsuda

Goigooi Ssssss [#Day of Comedy #MizuDOW #Diane]
Goigoisu Diane Tsuda

Originally, it was a word that Tsuda from the comedy duo Diane used as a stronger praise than just saying “amazing” when asked for his thoughts.

From there, it gradually became a signature phrase of Diane’s Tsuda—a one-shot gag that relies purely on momentum.

Because it’s a simple pose with one hand spread and a short word, the quick snap of delivering it and the pause while waiting for the reaction are what make it funny.

There are also versions where the pose is the same but the word is different, so it’s recommended to try various patterns and see how people react.

Are we drilling or not? (Kansai dialect comedic phrase)

Are we drilling or not? (Kansai dialect comedic phrase)

How about performing the skit “Drill Sun no kai? Sen no kai?” which won first place in “Elementary Schoolers’ Choice!! The Hottest Gags Around Us! New Comedy’s Top Picks!!”? In this routine, you press a soft stick against your partner’s chest and twist it like a drill, then, at the moment that seems just right, you fake as if you’re going to drill—but don’t.

This is a bit that doesn’t work without a partner, and it’s important to keep a good rhythm and sync with them when you perform.

Some people don’t like being touched, so pair up with a close friend who’s comfortable with it.

Baseball one-shot gag

@yakyukan

Kosei’s all-out baseball one-shot gag ⚾️ \ [Moving Baseball] 🚚⚾️ / Everyone, try using it at school or with your team 😉 If you thought it was funny, let me know with a like 👍✨#BaseballHallBaseball

♫ Original song – Baseball Hall – Baseball Hall

After you swing the bat, say, “Ah, a liner to short.” Then, using the melody of the Art Hikkoshi Center commercial jingle, say, “Aah—just a little more—to center!” It’s a gag that’ll make anyone with baseball knowledge who knows that jingle chuckle.

The key is to look disappointed right after the hit, and then, after saying “to center,” strike a smug pose and look at the crowd.

If you don’t have a bat, just miming the swing is fine.
