Wouldn’t it be interesting if a snapped rubber band came back to life? That’s exactly the mysterious effect you can show with the “restoring rubber band” magic trick.
All you need is a regular rubber band.
Hold the upper part at two points by pinching them with your thumbs.
Then pull up the section between your thumbs with your index finger.
The part you’re pulling will be hidden by your fingers, making it look like the rubber band has snapped.
Finally, let go and present the rubber band, now seemingly restored to its original state.

One of the basic techniques in magic is the palm.
Palming means secretly concealing an object in your hand.
As ideal practice for this, let me introduce a trick where a coin vanishes from your fingertips.
You use a single 10-yen coin, holding it as if pinched between the thumb and index finger of your right hand.
Then, with a brief wave of your left hand, the coin disappears.
All you’re doing is hiding the coin in a position outside the audience’s line of sight, but when you try it, you may find it surprisingly difficult.
Still, it’s a versatile technique, so it’s certainly worth mastering.
Magic with three cards

Here’s an amazing magic trick you can do with just three playing cards! All you need is the Ace of Hearts and two blank cards with no pictures or numbers.
In this trick, you lay the three cards face down and ask someone to guess where the Ace of Hearts is.
Even though your moves make it look absolutely certain where you placed it, when you actually flip the cards, the Ace of Hearts has moved to a completely different spot.
The key to this trick is how you move your hands when arranging the cards and how you hold the cards when showing them.
Practice it well, and you’ll be able to amaze your friends!
A magic trick where a bill passes through a spoon

It’s a magic trick where you sharply strike the crease of a folded bill with a spoon, the spoon appears to pierce through the bill, but when you remove the spoon and unfold the bill, it’s back to normal.
You prepare two spoons, hold them slightly offset so the back spoon sticks out, and place the folded bill between them.
By pressing the front spoon against the inside of the crease, the back spoon sticks out farther and becomes visible first, making it look as though it pierced the bill.
To avoid revealing that you’re holding two spoons, it’s best to use plain, flat spoons with minimal decoration.
A countdown card prediction

Here’s a stylish magic trick where you find the chosen card while doing a countdown.
First, take the cards numbered 1 to 5 from a deck with the same back design, and stack them so that the Ace (1) is on the very top of the deck.
Next, have someone choose a card, then rearrange the deck so that the chosen card is placed directly above the Ace.
After that, pretend to estimate where the card is by partially spreading and pulling out some cards, making sure to alternately pull out the prearranged 1–5 cards in the process.
Then, by pushing and pulling the cards starting from the 5 that’s been pulled out, the selected card will appear! Pay attention to how you hold the cards, and give it a try.
A magic trick you can do with seven playing cards

This is a magic trick where you return the chosen card to a packet of seven cards, and then flawlessly name which card it was.
The key is how you mix the cards after the return—at this point, you bring the selected card to the bottom of the packet.
From there, you use techniques like catching a pinky break and turning over two cards at once to secretly move the selected card.
Adding a phase where a seemingly different card is placed in the spectator’s hand but then transforms into the chosen card makes the effect even more astonishing.
Handkerchief magic: a knot that comes undone in an instant

It’s handy to have a magic trick you can show during small pockets of free time.
The one I’m introducing today is a handkerchief trick where a knot instantly comes undone.
You strongly tie the ends of an ordinary scarf together, but with a slight pull, the knot mysteriously unravels.
There’s no special gimmick—through the method of tying and your performance, it looks tightly secured.
That means you can even borrow a spectator’s handkerchief or use any other cloth to perform it.
It also makes a perfect introduction to other handkerchief magic.
