Disaster Prevention Day

September 1 is Disaster Preparedness Day.
You probably already take opportunities to talk about dangerous situations and crime prevention in everyday life, but in connection with Disaster Preparedness Day, let’s make a point of discussing and preparing thoroughly.
Even adults can be startled and panic at the sound of a disaster alarm bell.
To help children understand that they should stay calm and evacuate without rushing when they hear the alarm, it may be clearer to explain using a picture-story show (kamishibai) or a storytelling format.
You can also talk about other important safety points by using cute illustrations and turning them into a sketchbook theater presentation.
Autumn trees with a stamp

An autumn tree painted with a handmade tampo is a craft that lets children enjoy paint in a different way than usual.
The tampo itself is easy to make—even for small children—by simply attaching cotton and gauze to a small container like a plastic bottle.
The unique patterns and soft hues created by the cotton and gauze will spark children’s imaginations and keep them absorbed in the activity.
It’s a great idea for an autumn craft—simple and satisfying, since all you do is press it onto the paper.
In conclusion
We introduced events and activities that make use of natural materials unique to autumn, which can be enjoyed through seasonal childcare.
There are plenty of ideas to decorate childcare rooms with a sense of the season that will make children’s eyes sparkle.
Through September’s events, we hope you will spend enjoyable times with the children while feeling the changing seasons together.
Please enjoy this fruitful autumn time that nurtures children’s imagination and creativity.
