Hit and popular songs by SHISHAMO (Shishamo)
Let me introduce a song by SHISHAMO, a three-piece girls’ band from Kanagawa Prefecture.
Their debut came about when a record label representative happened to overhear the advisor of their high school light music club talking at his regular tonkatsu restaurant, saying, “There’s a great band.”
Apparently, the restaurant was even selling their CDs.
Their appeal lies in the down-to-earth lyrics written by the vocalist, Ms.
Miyazaki, and their performance skills that contrast with their cute visuals.
Now, please enjoy a song by SHISHAMO, a staple of the next generation of girls’ rock bands.

Late-night radioSHISHAMO

For a certain project, I was asked to write a song with the theme of late-night radio, and this is a song that the vocalist wrote alone.
It’s about a girl waiting for a phone call from someone she likes while listening to late-night radio.
She’s a devoted girl who waits until the sun comes up.
I can’t finish my homework.SHISHAMO

As the title suggests, this is a song about a girl who stays up past midnight doing her summer vacation homework because she can’t finish it.
I can really relate to the feeling of not wanting tomorrow to come.
Haven’t we all felt that way when we’re overwhelmed by schoolwork? Honestly, if you listen to it while your homework isn’t done, you might get so absorbed that you get even less of it finished.
If only you could hear the sound of this heartbeatSHISHAMO

This is a song from SHISHAMO packed with the bittersweet feelings of a woman in love.
Its catchy melody and rock sound leave a strong impression, and Asako Miyazaki’s distinctive vocals portray the emotional highs and lows with striking realism.
The jacket illustration was apparently created by Miyazaki herself.
It sweetly and poignantly captures the fluttery excitement before becoming a couple and the joy of mutual love—sure to make your heart skip a beat.
If you sing it to the guy you’re interested in, your feelings will surely resonate with his heart!
Full-Power BoySHISHAMO

Among the tracks on the tribute album “Minna no Sukima Switch,” one of the most talked-about is surely SHISHAMO’s cover of “Zenryoku Shounen.” While preserving the original vibe, it’s been turned into an energetic, pop sound that’s distinctly SHISHAMO.
The lyrics, which sing of the strength and hope to climb back up from rock bottom, are truly uplifting.
When you’re down or troubled, this song spurs you on, resonating with a wide range of listeners!
The universe in the palm of your handSHISHAMO
You might think it’s a song complaining about cell phones, but in the second half it turns into a bittersweet love song.
Many people have probably experienced things like being unable to delete a phone number or throw away mementos, even though they broke up because they thought they didn’t love their partner anymore.
This song is meant to comfort people in that situation.

BYE BYESHISHAMO

This is a song that oozes with the band’s coolness.
The sound is unabashedly cool, while the lyrics are heartbreakingly bittersweet—truly showcasing SHISHAMO’s signature style.
It portrays a girl who can’t forget the person she broke up with, yet struggles to finally move forward.

Song of the Sub GuitarSHISHAMO

As the title suggests, this is truly a song about the feelings of a backup guitar.
It only gets to shine when the main guitar is out of sorts, yet it senses a difference between the sound it produces and the sound of the main guitar, and so it earnestly feels it should step back.
There’s no music video, so this is a play-through video.
