Here’s an easy good-luck snake origami you can make! First, place the colored side of the paper facing up and fold it into a triangle twice to make crease lines.
Fold the top and bottom corners to the center line, then fold the corners back to align with the outer edges.
Turn it over and fold both sides toward the center line.
Fold one corner inward, then fold the whole piece in half so the colored side is on the outside.
On one side, perform a squash fold by bringing the lower edge to the center.
Next, make another squash fold at the tip to shape the head.
Finally, wrap the tip on the other end around your finger to curl it, and you’re done.
Add your favorite decorations to boost its good-luck charm even more!
A snake made by rolling it round and round

Super easy with just one sheet of origami! Here’s how to make a wiggly, bendable snake toy.
You’ll need one sheet of double-sided origami paper, wood glue, and a piece of wire.
Fold one corner of the origami paper inward, then apply a line of wood glue down the center.
Place the wire on top of the glue, and fold the near corner so it meets just short of the opposite corner.
Finally, roll the paper from the near edge toward the wire, and secure the tip with wood glue.
Flatten one end to shape the snake’s head, attach the mouth piece, and you’re done!
A snake you can also use on a message card

Here’s an origami snake that’s perfect for New Year’s and can also be used on cards! First, fold the paper into a triangle twice to make crease lines.
Place the paper with a corner facing you, then fold the two edges closest to you in toward the horizontal center line.
Open up the overlapped center section and squash-fold it, while folding each edge inward toward the overlapped area.
Tuck one side’s edge to the back, then shape it so the corners are rounded to resemble a snake.
The remaining side will be the snake’s tail, so fold it back so it sticks out on the reverse side.
Finally, draw the eyes and add letters or patterns on the white areas, and you’re done!
A cute snake with googly eyes stickers

Introducing an easy snake origami you can make with just one sheet of origami paper and googly-eye stickers! Up to a certain point, the folding is the same as when making a crane.
Once you’ve folded it to the stage where the crane’s head, tail, and two wings are formed, accordion-fold either the head or the tail to make the snake’s tail, and use one of the wings to form the head.
Cut two small slits in the lower triangular tip of the wing to create the snake’s tongue.
Tuck any excess paper to the back of the head, add the eye stickers, and you’re done! For the eyes, you can also use round stickers or draw them with a pen—they look cute that way too.
[Origami Toy] Lunging Snake

Here’s an origami snake you can make from a single sheet and fly for fun.
First, fold the paper in half twice using the ‘kannon’ fold, then open it.
Rotate it 90 degrees and fold the same way.
When you open the paper, you should see a grid of crease lines.
Use these creases to form the snake.
Fold the paper into thirds so you get 3 squares vertically and 8 squares horizontally.
On one end, fold it into a U-shape to make the snake’s head.
The other end will be the tail, so fold the corners inward.
Once it’s finished, pinch the head and tail between your index finger and thumb and try flying it!
In conclusion
We introduced some easy-to-make snake ideas! There was also a toy idea that moves like a real snake, which was fun. Some ideas involve many steps to crease the paper, but the folding itself is simple. If you find a snake that interests you, be sure to give it a try!
