Tennozu Canal Fes is a free-admission community event held in Tennozu Isle, a waterside neighborhood known for art. Organized by the Tennozu Canal Side Activation Association, it lets visitors enjoy music, film, art, and food all at once along the canal. The Spring/Summer 2026 edition will take place from May 22 to 24, featuring a wide range of programs centered on “DO THE NORTH!”, a collaboration with Hokkaido culture, including live performances on boats, a waterside film festival, and a gourmet market.

STAR ISLAND is a next-generation fireworks entertainment project launched by Avex in 2017 to pass on Japan’s traditional fireworks culture to future generations. It has staged performances around the world, including in Singapore and Saudi Arabia, drawing a cumulative audience of over 15 million people. At the Odaiba Seaside Park venue, 12,000 fireworks, 800 drones, lasers, and a live ensemble are synchronized to a 90-minute script, transforming Tokyo Bay into a massive stage. Scheduled for May 2026.

Fussa Kanizaka Rock FestivalMay 23 (Sat)–24 (Sun), Tokyo
An admission-free outdoor festival in Kanizaka Park, Fussa, Tokyo, that has continued since the 1970s, championing freedom and a DIY spirit. In the open space along the Tama River, a diverse lineup of performers gathers—from local bands to various acts—alongside a handmade-feel array of distinctive food vendors and general-goods stalls. Within the venue, a unique local currency called “Kani Tickets” is used, bringing the community and music together. In response to recent extreme heat, the 2026 edition will move from its traditional August schedule to a May event.
