Now performing at major festivals nationwide and enjoying immense popularity among Japanese rock band fans, THE ORAL CIGARETTES have become a dominant presence.

Starting in 2010, they expanded their activities from their local live houses to venues across the country, and after winning the Grand Prix at the 2012 MASH A&R audition, their name rapidly gained recognition.

While their catchy guitar rock ignites the floor, they make vocalist-guitarist Takuya Yamanaka’s bewitching voice the core of their music, drawing many listeners in with a subtly mysterious and alluring sound.

The rock band THE ORAL CIGARETTES’ winter 2020 track “Tonight the silence kills me with your fire.” It’s insanely twisted guitar rock, and with the vocals processed into a radio voice, it creates a brilliantly crazy world.

The key to this rock sound is, after all, the simple playing and its intense energy.

When the bass refrain swells and locks into that satisfying groove, it’s the absolute best of the best.

It’s a song you’ll definitely want to go wild to at a live show.

A Beautiful LieTHE ORAL CIGARETTES

A four-piece rock band that won the inaugural MASH A&R Audition Grand Prix and has gained popularity with songs that shine with a mixture sound and catchy melodic sensibility.

The band name was originally chosen for its sound, but after a senior they consulted remarked, “Hey, doesn’t that mean ‘a cigarette hanging from your mouth’?” they adopted the concept of creating music that people can listen to as casually as a dangling cigarette.

Their technical performances and stylish catalog deliver a modern sound that strikes a chord with today’s rock fans.

Loud yet pop-savvy, their music is addictive—a band to keep an eye on.

mist...THE ORAL CIGARETTES

THE ORAL CIGARETTES, a rock band that now plays on the main stages of major festivals nationwide, once performed show after show at small local live houses.

One of the songs they’ve been playing since those days is “mist…”.

The previous drummer appears in the music video, doesn’t he? It doesn’t seem to be performed very often these days, but it’s a true hidden gem packed with their appeal.

A Comeback StoryTHE ORAL CIGARETTES

The long-awaited first major-label single.

Even within the masculine vocals, the straightforward lyrics woven from delicate high tones reach your ears.

I’m grateful to have heard once again the coolness of a true band sound without any backing tracks, which has become rare lately.
