Cycling BluesImawano Kiyoshirō

Kiyoshiro Imawano, known as a devoted bicycle enthusiast who would travel with his bandmates by bike during live tours and even published a book about bicycles with the same title as one of his songs.

This is a famous song that expresses his feelings for “bicycle journeys.” Listening to it brings back the sensation of cutting through the wind on a bike, and before you know it, you’ll feel like pedaling off into the distance.

Chuo FreewayMatsutōya Yumi

It’s the perfect song to listen to on a road trip.

It’s a classic by Yumi Matsutoya from when she was still single.

This song, inspired by the Chuo Expressway, became a hot topic because its lyrics depict the real scenery you see from a car window.

A freeway is a “road of freedom.” With a song like this, you feel like you could drive on forever.

From the World's Train WindowsMizoguchi Hajime

A travel documentary series that has been on the air since 1987, “Sekai no Shaso kara” (From the World’s Train Windows).

I’m sure many people became interested in travel because of this show.

And along with the program, what we remember is its theme song! The composer is Hajo Mizoguchi, a musician also known as a cellist.

Perhaps because of its somewhat nostalgic tone, the music conjures up images of beautiful scenery unfolding before your eyes.

Influenced by the content of the show as well, it really makes you want to travel abroad! Since it’s an instrumental piece with no vocals, it seems suitable for any situation.

MIDNIGHT TRAVELERSuzuki Masayuki

This song is a single released in 1996.

Judging from the lyrics, it feels like they’re a couple with a bit of a complicated situation, but instead of being tied down by reality, they hop on a train that departs aimlessly in the middle of the night and set off for an unfamiliar town.

Plus, Suzuki’s voice is so wonderful that you can’t help but be captivated.

It’s said that Benji, the guitarist and vocalist, wrote it while he was back home in Nagoya.

The lyrics are very simple and repetitive.
