City pop has become a hugely popular music genre in recent years.

One of the bands that represents city pop is Yogee New Waves.

Their songs have a very relaxed feel, which is part of their charm, and they give off a stylish vibe.

Indigo la End, for which Enon Kawatani—also active as the frontman of Gesu no Kiwami Otome.—serves as vocalist and guitarist.

Unlike Gesu no Kiwami Otome., whose appeal lies in their idiosyncratic songs, Indigo la End has a more straightforward, song-centric vibe.

In this track, the interplay between the guitar and bass in the intro and the tightly chopped drum patterns are especially striking.

Boku no Lyric no Bōyomi is an 18-year-old up-and-coming artist who just graduated from high school this spring.

While still a student, he advanced to the finals of the audition event Senkou Riot and gained attention after being featured on TOKYO FM’s SCHOOL OF LOCK!.

His appeal lies in his carefully crafted lyrics and his clear, translucent singing voice.

I’d love to hear him live at least once.

Kyuso Nekokami is a five-piece rock band.

Their songs often revolve around current trends and everyday topics, making them relatable and entertaining.

Their live shows are humorous and fun too, and with so many upbeat tracks, you’ll have a great time singing and dancing along.

CreepHyp, known for their ultra-high-tone vocals, has been the talk of the town.

They’ve scored various tie-ins with films and commercials and are hugely popular.

Ozaki Sekai-kan’s singing voice is certainly a big part of their appeal, personally, I love the floaty feel of their guitar riffs—the atmosphere that instantly pulls you into CreepHyp’s world.

Since the start of 2016, Gesu no Kiwami Otome.

has been making headlines with shocking news, but their popularity shows no sign of slowing down.

Formed in 2012 and making their major-label debut in 2014, they skyrocketed to fame over the past few years.

Many of you have probably heard this song, as it was also featured in a Coca-Cola commercial.

This song by Scenarioart, a three-piece rock band from Shiga Prefecture, was used as the ending theme for the anime “The Perfect Insider.” The opening theme for the same anime was done by KANA-BOON, and a split album featuring these two songs was released last November.

It attracted attention as a split single that includes both the anime’s opening and ending themes.
