Challenge your limits! A collection of Vocaloid songs with high keys and soaring high melodies
Many people probably have the impression that “Vocaloid songs have high keys.” In fact, the pitch range you can manipulate with synthetic vocal software is quite wide.
If you own one, you know—you’ve probably tried making it sing at absurdly high pitches, right? In this article, I’ve put together a list of Vocaloid songs with high keys! I think it’s a playlist that can help you choose songs for karaoke or cover videos.
Strictly speaking, in music theory there’s a difference between “a melody that includes high notes” and “a song with a high key,” but I’ve kept things loose here to be more accessible.

If I could become someone's heartYurii Canon

You can tell from the intro alone that this song is on a whole other level.
It’s a track by Vocaloid producer Yuri Cannon, who’s also active as a composer for the band Tsukuyomi, released in 2018.
It’s a rock number with powerful loudness, yet it somehow feels beautiful—perhaps thanks to its polished melody line.
The lyrics, which delve into the meaning of life, add a rich depth as well.
If you can pull this song off, it’s unbelievably cool, so be sure to show it off the next time you go to karaoke with friends or your partner!
The finale is yours.Aira

This song is a Vocaloid track that shines with profound emotional expression, centered on themes of self-denial and inner conflict.
Released by Aira in September 2022, it placed 8th in “The VOCALOID Collection ~2023 Spring~.” Its lyrics, which convey loneliness and despair in a direct, unfiltered way, resonate deeply with listeners.
Bottling up emotions and lashing out at oneself—listeners can’t help but empathize and become emotionally immersed.
When you want to face your own weakness, try singing this song.
Dance of VenusNayutan Alien

Nayutan Seijin, a Vocaloid producer beloved for his alien persona.
The track “Dance of Venus” is included on the album “Express Train to the Planet Nayutan,” which he created together with the singer Sou.
Here, we’ll introduce the VOCALOID version sung by Hatsune Miku.
This piece is a high-energy song featuring an up-tempo sound and sampled male shouts.
Its straightforward focus on celebrating the joy of dancing is really appealing.
The Howling of the Lost OneNeru

This is a song that gives full voice to inner feelings spun in the context of school life—those inescapable, frustrating emotions that you just can’t shake off.
It has resonated with many listeners, reaching 10 million views on video platforms, and can truly be called a song that stands beside its audience.
The intense band sound and fast, high-energy melody are impressive and undeniably cool on their own.
Still, the greatest strength of this track lies in the message conveyed by its lyrics.
When you’re weighed down by unresolved feelings, why not try shouting it out at karaoke?
Amanojaku164

A song by 164, who is active as a guitarist and Vocaloid producer.
Often said to be a landmark in Vocaloid history, it’s also highly popular among fans, with a novel based on the song released in 2014.
Beyond the chorus that features the characteristically high pitches typical of Vocaloid tracks, the melody overall includes many large intervals, plus irregular meter in the pre-chorus and key changes in the latter half—making it quite difficult for a human to sing.
Even so, it’s catchy and easy to remember, which makes it the kind of number you want to sing despite knowing how challenging it is.
CharlesBalloon

If you’re a Vocaloid fan, you probably know “Charles.” It’s a piece by balloon, also known under the singer-songwriter name Keina Suda, released in 2017.
Its stylish chord progressions and brisk rhythm first grab the listener’s heart, and then the profound lyrics about love keep you captivated.
The chorus is particularly high in pitch and quite challenging to sing.
If you feel you can’t hit the notes, try using falsetto.
Make a solid plan like “I’ll switch to falsetto just for the timing of these specific lyrics.”

headacheape

Doesn’t the title alone make you want to listen? This is a track released by Eipu in May 2024.
With a fast tempo—BPM 200—it’s a very high-tempo piece with an energetic tone that makes a strong impact on listeners.
The lyrics use “headaches caused by low atmospheric pressure” as a foundation to cynically portray the painful situations we inevitably encounter in life.
It’s a highly relatable, upbeat song.
The high notes make their appearance in the chorus!
