Challenge your limits! A collection of Vocaloid songs with high keys and soaring high melodies
Many people probably have the impression that “Vocaloid songs have high keys.” In fact, the pitch range you can manipulate with synthetic vocal software is quite wide.
If you own one, you know—you’ve probably tried making it sing at absurdly high pitches, right? In this article, I’ve put together a list of Vocaloid songs with high keys! I think it’s a playlist that can help you choose songs for karaoke or cover videos.
Strictly speaking, in music theory there’s a difference between “a melody that includes high notes” and “a song with a high key,” but I’ve kept things loose here to be more accessible.
By all means, challenge the limits of your own vocal cords!

Challenge your limits! A collection of Vocaloid songs with high keys and soaring melodies (21–30)
HenceforthOrangestar

This Vocaloid track combines a crystalline piano timbre with a four-on-the-floor beat, delivering an exhilarating sense of freshness.
It’s a piece by Mikansei-P, also known as Orangestar, released in 2020.
As his first new song in three years, it became a hot topic among Vocaloid fans at the time.
The driving, rush-forward feel of the music pairs perfectly with lyrics that convey a strong determination to keep moving ahead even without you.
The chorus features particularly high notes, so it can be quite challenging even for female singers.
But that’s exactly why it feels so good when you manage to sing it through.
meltdowniroha(sasaki)

The first thing that stands out about this song is Kagamine Rin’s voice, which rings out high and far.
While the lyrics are abstract, they are said to express the journey from childhood to adulthood and the moratorium in between, drawing many listeners in.
As the title “Meltdown” suggests, the lyrics include uncommon words like “fusion reactor.” Alongside those, you’ll also find everyday phrases.
Dive in and fully enjoy the world depicted there.

Absolutely hostile, super hate ya!Medomia

“Absolute Adversary Mega-Kirai-ya,” a track released in April 2022 by Medomia, a Vocaloid producer born in 2000.
It’s a cool song with a driving drum beat and a catchy chorus melody that sticks in your head after just one listen.
When you try to sing it, you’ll probably find the beginning fairly easy.
However, once the chorus hits, the required vocal range jumps up significantly.
The highest note in the song is hi G (G5), which appears near the end.
It happens in the final sprint, after a key change that raises the key by one more step for the last chorus.
Give it your best shot using falsetto and mixed voice!
Tinplate DanceHinata Denkō

Among Vocaloid tracks where not only the music but also the MV is considered part of the appeal, producer Hinata Denko is known for competing with just the music alone—using only a single thumbnail image.
This song, the first of their works to hit a million plays, features a thrilling guitar riff and relentless melodies that really get you fired up.
With rapid-fire delivery, frequent melodic leaps, and even passages in a high key, it compresses the hallmarks and challenges of Vocaloid music into a high-difficulty number.
But that’s exactly why, if you can nail it at karaoke, you’re guaranteed to be a hero.
Alice in the FreezerOrangestar

An intro marked by the softly resonant piano notes—“tan… tan…”—leaves a striking impression.
From there, you can imagine a story unfolding in a cold, unfamiliar world that’s about to begin.
The uninterrupted flow of tones and the satisfying clarity of the vocals laid over them create a comfort that’s simply irresistible.
As the creator described it as a “Frozen Nonsense Theater,” the song sometimes proceeds exactly as we expect, and at other times boldly subverts those expectations, offering surprise and delight.
It’s a challenging song to sing, but it’s one that makes you want to try and present your own expression.
Lavisurii

Vocaloid producer Surii, who began making music inspired by the TV anime K-On! and has multiple Hall-of-Fame tracks, released his 20th song “Luv,” which was chosen as the theme song for a character in the mobile game #Compass: Combat Providence Analysis System.
It’s challenging not only because it maintains high notes throughout, but also due to its intricate melody; however, once you can sing it, karaoke becomes even more enjoyable.
With over 10 million views on YouTube, it’s a number that many people are likely to know.
Maiden AnatomyDECO*27

Why not try your hand at a yandere-flavored love song? This piece by DECO*27, a Vocaloid producer behind numerous hits, was released in 2019.
It’s a fan favorite also featured in the mobile game Project Sekai.
The mix of rock built on a four-on-the-floor rhythm is insanely addictive, and Miku’s slightly mature vocals shine.
The chorus reaches high notes, but the melody is easy to remember, so definitely give it a try to level up your singing!
