golden hourJVKE

Jake is a singer-songwriter who is also active as a YouTuber.
His signature song, “golden hour,” released in 2022, became an explosive hit through platforms like TikTok.
The highlight of the track is undoubtedly the chorus.
The high, sustained notes in the chorus are challenging, and because the arrangement is simple, it demands considerable vocal ability.
The rap-style section in the first verse sits fairly low as well, so if you’re confident in your vocal range, be sure to check it out.
Flavor Of LifeUtada Hikaru

Hikaru Utada is often mentioned as a female artist whose songs are difficult to sing.
Her “Flavor of Life” spans a wide range—from the low melody in the verse to the high notes in the chorus—making it a song that would likely draw attention if you can pull it off at karaoke.
In particular, the low part of this song goes down to D-sharp, which can feel challenging even for women who are good at singing low notes.
It’s also tricky to capture the distinctive groove with its slightly shifted rhythm.
Be mindful of lining up the start of each phrase precisely and nail it perfectly!
THE HERO !!JAM Project

JAM Project is an anisong group that has earned worldwide acclaim for their overwhelming vibes and solid vocal technique.
Each member has signature hits in the Japanese anisong scene, and among them are people who have performed theme songs for Dragon Ball Z and One Piece.
Among their songs, THE HERO!! is particularly difficult.
To be honest, JAM Project has even more challenging songs, but I chose this one because its difficulty is the easiest to grasp.
As a mixed-gender group, the range spans extreme highs and lows; it’s not just about hitting high notes but also delivering powerful shouts, maintaining sound pressure, and sustaining long tones—all of which make this piece impressively demanding.
Happy EnderTHE BEAT GARDEN

THE BEAT GARDEN is a music unit known for its rare lineup of four vocalists and one DJ.
Their new song “Happy Ender” spans a very wide vocal range.
The most striking feature is the mixed voice.
Mixed voice appears throughout the track, and because it’s the type that requires powerful, belted delivery, the piece is quite selective in terms of who can even produce the necessary vocals.
On top of that, the vocal line has dramatic rises and falls, making this undeniably an S-tier difficulty song.
GIFTMr.Children

A grand, cheering ballad that sings of values beyond winning and losing.
If you can nail it at karaoke, it’s a song that can deliver a gold medal–worthy performance that lingers in the heart! While it’s not extremely high in the upper register, Mr.Children’s hallmark is the intense rise and fall of the melodic line, which makes many people feel, once they try singing it, “I can’t hit the pitches at all! This is hard!” The overall vocal range of GIFT is A2 to B4, leaning wider on the low end.
You’ll need steady breath support throughout.
In the chorus, explosive power becomes crucial, so as the notes climb higher, sing with increasing drive and energy!
Ephemeral yet eternal sorrowUVERworld

The first opening theme of the anime Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Season 2, which depicts the boundary between love and hatred.
UVERworld’s songs are generally tough to master, and this one is no exception, but if you can pull it off at karaoke, it’s a track that lets you become a true performer who can wield explosive emotion! The overall vocal range is fairly wide, from D#3 to C#5.
Since F4 is the most frequently used pitch on average, it’ll feel consistently high for male singers, but if you sing with solid resonance through your body, it becomes a bit easier.
Focus on resonating more in your chest than your head—this approach should suit the song well.
Breath support and explosive power are crucial, so sing with the image of projecting your voice firmly!

Proof of Eternal AbsenceToukyou Jihen

Tokyo Jihen’s “The Eternal Proof of Absence” is quite difficult for women to sing because the low E is hard to hit.
The intro uses a lot of chromatic movement, making accurate pitch-taking tricky, and the rest of the song also features unusual intervals, so you’ll likely need plenty of practice to make it through without going off pitch.
You’re especially prone to pitch mistakes in the modulation sections, so it may help to listen closely to the backing track.
It’s a very challenging song, so if you can pull it off coolly, you’ll definitely stand out at karaoke!
