With guitarist Chris Rosenau, bassist Matt Tennen, and drummer Jon Mueller, they craft a distinctive sound that blends a wide range of genres.

Their 1999 album Elephant features tracks heavily infused with jazz elements, and in the spring of 2000 they signed with Polyvinyl Records and released their landmark album The Nudes.

The track The Mind of Minolta from that record encapsulates their appeal.

In 2002, they embarked on a Japan tour that drew such fervent support that a TV crew accompanied them.

After releasing 13 titles over seven years, they disbanded in the winter of 2004.
