[2026 Edition] Stylish Western Music for Driving – Latest Popular Songs (21–30)
I Did This To Myself (feat. Lil Yachty)Thundercat

Thundercat, the eccentric bassist who epitomizes the LA music scene and is also known for his sweet falsetto voice.
His album “It Is What It Is” being highly acclaimed at the 2021 Grammys is still fresh in our memory.
The piece in which he collaborates with the maverick rapper Lil Yachty is this “I Did This To Myself (feat.
Lil Yachty).” Released in January 2026, it’s a lead single from the highly anticipated album “Distracted,” due in April.
His close ally Flying Lotus took part in the production, and the surging bassline blends beautifully with Yachty’s melodic rap.
The introspective lyrics, themed around personal responsibility, carry a touch of sadness, but the groovy sound is perfect for a late-night drive when you’re juggling complicated feelings.
B-SideKhruangbin & Leon Bridges

If you’re looking for driving music that’s stylish yet lets you savor a deep musical flavor, I highly recommend B-Side, born from the collaboration between Leon Bridges—one of the leading contemporary soul/R&B singer-songwriters—and the trio Khruangbin, famed for their mysterious aura and exotically scented funk.
It’s the lead track from their 2022 collaborative EP Texas Moon, and its soulful melodies and psychedelic grooves create a sound you won’t find elsewhere.
Different from radio-friendly, easy listening, its truly deep allure is irresistible—and once you’re hooked, there’s no getting out.
It’s the kind of track that makes you want to drive through an endless stretch of open desert, soundtracked by the remarkable chemistry of these two talents.
LA FAMA ft. The WeekndROSALÍA

Rosalía, the Spanish artist who garnered attention with her track “Lo Vas A Olvidar” alongside none other than Billie Eilish—known for rarely collaborating with other artists—and who has been highly praised by many big-name musicians, wields a unique style that fuses traditional flamenco with contemporary pop.
Her third album, Motomami, released in March 2022, has been a major talking point in Japan as well, especially among dedicated Western music fans.
With several song titles in Japanese and a sound inspired not only by her Spanish roots but also by Eastern cultures—particularly Japan—Rosalía’s exceptionally distinctive music is something you should experience at least once.
Among her tracks, “La Fama,” a collaboration with The Weeknd, incorporates bachata, a genre originating in the Dominican Republic.
It’s a song that blends a Latin flavor with a thoroughly modern and stylish feel, making it a perfect accent for your driving playlist—be sure to add it!
Black SuperheroRobert Glasper

In May 2022, Robert Glasper—one of the most important figures in the contemporary jazz scene—made a long-awaited return to Japan, drawing huge crowds.
His fluid style, moving effortlessly between jazz, hip-hop, R&B, and rock, continues to influence countless artists.
In February of the same year, he released the highly anticipated third installment of his cutting-edge, crossover-leaning Black Radio series, which also sparked a lot of buzz.
While the sound—centered on themes of Black roots and identity—carries a serious tone, it’s also irresistibly groovy and impeccably stylish, a hallmark of Glasper’s craft.
The featured track, Black Superhero, is the lead single from Black Radio III and includes contributions from Killer Mike, BJ the Chicago Kid, and Big K.R.I.T.
With its mellow piano, hip-hop-derived beat, and choir-like chorus, it’s a supremely cool standout that’s perfect for an uplifting drive.
Be sure to check out the music video as well, which aligns with the theme of honoring Black people who work tirelessly for their communities as “heroes.”
No IDTank And The Bangas

Just listening to their funky, groovy sound makes you want to dash out of the house and hit the road, doesn’t it? Based in New Orleans, a city that feels enchanted by musical magic, the four-piece Tank and the Bangas are highly acclaimed for their sound, which skillfully weaves jazz and soul together with hip-hop and R&B.
Their stellar live performances drew wide attention, and after releasing their major-label debut Green Balloon in 2019, they were nominated for Best New Artist at the 2020 Grammy Awards—making them a group to watch.
In 2022, they released their much-anticipated new album Red Balloon, and among its tracks, No ID—whose vintage disco vibe feels both nostalgic and stylishly modern—is a top recommendation for your driving soundtrack!
pg babyredveil

Among the theme articles this time, for those looking for promising up-and-coming artists who are still relatively unknown in Japan, I’d like to recommend REDVEIL, a rising rapper–songwriter who had just turned 18 in April 2022.
A precocious artist who began making beats at the young age of 11, he has been influenced by figures like Tyler, the Creator and Earl Sweatshirt, while presenting his own distinctive sound that’s already generating buzz among early-adopter music fans.
His album learn 2 swim, released on his 18th birthday, as you can hear from the track “pg baby” featured here, carries elements of lo-fi hip hop that sample old soul and jazz records, making it a sound that even those not usually into hip hop may find approachable.
That said, the lyrics, which depict the real emotions of an 18-year-old living in contemporary America, are by no means bright, so I especially encourage younger music fans to pay close attention to the words.
Stateside + Zara LarssonPinkPantheress

London-based singer and producer PinkPantheress has garnered attention for her skill in transforming UK garage and drum’n’bass into pop.
Her 2025 album Fancy That was well received, and this time we’re introducing Stateside, a refreshed take on a classic featuring Swedish singer Zara Larsson.
The track captures the frustration of distance and time differences with a loved one, set to a breezy beat.
With Zara’s powerful vocals, what began as an inward-looking love song evolves into a more open, liberating sound—truly exhilarating.
The music video released in January 2026 also drew plenty of buzz.
It’s a perfect fit for nights when you’re thinking of someone far away or for lifting your mood on a morning commute.
