clear pouch

A clear pouch made from candy packaging is perfect for an elementary school summer craft because you can make it without sewing! You’ll need your favorite candy package, strong double-sided tape, a zipper, and a B6 soft card case.
First, use the paper insert from the card case as a template to cut the candy package, then stick it onto the case with double-sided tape.
Cut the zipper to match the size, place it face down, and attach it with double-sided tape to the opening of the case.
Blow hot air from a hair dryer onto it; when the case softens, turn it right side out.
If you also make a charm using the candy package and laminating film, it’ll look even cuter!
cooler

Make a must-have cooler for the hot season using 100-yen store items! Cut a hole in the top of a Styrofoam cooler box to fit the size of the fan you’ll attach.
Also cut an outlet hole on the side.
Inside the box, add dividers so you can stand and secure ice packs.
Then remove the stand from a small fan, mount it, connect it to a mobile battery, insert the ice packs, and switch it on.
It won’t cool the entire room, but if you place it on a desk, you’ll feel a pleasantly cool breeze!
Baskin-Robbins-style ice cream

Baskin-Robbins ice cream is said to be appealing for its wide variety of flavors, and its colorful appearance makes it look delicious, too.
This is about recreating that colorful ice cream using clay.
The process is simple: mix paint into the clay to color it, then cut the colored clay and combine the pieces to match the flavor you want to make.
Once you’ve shaped it into a ball, use a toothbrush or a toothpick to create a bumpy texture to make it look more like real ice cream.
Finally, put the ice cream pieces into a cup and you’re done—using a real cup is also recommended.
Squeeze

Here’s how to make a simple squishy toy using items from the 100-yen shop! Just pick a sponge, cut it into your favorite shape, and paint it with acrylic paint.
With a bit of creativity, you can make cute squishies like fruits or animals.
Finish with a coat of sealant to keep it soft and squishy for longer.
It’s perfect for a summer vacation craft project.
Make them with friends or family for even more fun! Create your own original squishy and enjoy the satisfying texture together.
Lantern shade made with cellophane

Milk cartons made of sturdy material are handy for crafts.
Here’s a simple lantern you can make using a milk carton.
Cut off the spout and the bottom of the carton, then cut window openings in whatever shapes you like.
Cover the windows with cellophane or a thin napkin that lets light through.
Make the cut-out window side the bottom of the lantern, and attach a stand to hold a candle.
Place a candle-shaped light from a dollar store on the stand.
Punch holes at the top, thread a string or wire through to make a handle, and you’re done.
cardboard gashapon

Gachapon machines aren’t just for kids—these days, lots of adults are into them too.
With figures, keychains, and all sorts of items, it’s exciting to see what you’ll get! Many elementary schoolers probably enjoy them by asking their parents for a turn, right? So why not try making your own gachapon machine? All you need are cardboard, a large food container, a milk carton, a card case, a plastic bottle, and a bookend.
As long as you follow the steps correctly, you can probably finish it in a day! Since you’ll be cutting not just cardboard but also the container, it’s recommended for fourth graders and up.

tube strap

You can get all the materials at a 100-yen shop! Here are some ideas for tube straps.
A tube strap is a cute strap made by putting your favorite beads inside a tube.
Use beads in the recipient child’s favorite colors or motifs to create an original strap as a gift.
You’ll need an aquarium air tube, beads, a hot glue gun, and keychain parts.
Attach it to a bag or other belongings to make them easy to spot! It’s also fun to make them together.
