Wedding SongSaitō Kazuyoshi

The TV commercials for the wedding magazine Zexy are among the most representative of the Heisei era, aren’t they? Among them, many people likely remember this particular commercial featuring Kana Kurashina, who served as the fourth “Zexy Girl.” The background music was Kazuyoshi Saito’s “Wedding Song,” which is also memorable to many.
The song was originally composed as a short piece specifically for the commercial, but due to the strong response after it aired, the rest was written and it was released as a CD—so the story goes.
Love CirculationHanazawa Kana

This spot, which opens with a cute hamster offering you tea, is a commercial for TEA in the Craft Boss world.
In the ad, Hono Tamura from Sakurazaka46 performs a dance to “Ren’ai Circulation,” and toward the end there’s a twist where Tamura transforms into a hamster, who then keeps on dancing—super cute.
The background track “Ren’ai Circulation” is the theme song from the anime Bakemonogatari and one of Kana Hanazawa’s signature songs.
Its whispery vocals make it a charming classic of anime music.
You Can’t Hurry LoveThe Supremes

This is a promotional commercial introducing SPRING VALLEY BREWERY, a craft beer released by Kirin Beer.
The cast members look like they’re having a great time enjoying the beer, and it’s so fun to watch that it gets you excited too! The background music features a cover of The Supremes’ signature song “You Can’t Hurry Love.” Since its 1966 release, it has been covered by artists around the world and is a classic that you often hear in various settings in Japan as well.
A bouquet for meAdo

Here’s a commercial where a crowd of young people who lack confidence take turns singing this song by Ado in a relay style.
It’s a moving story: if you do nothing, nothing changes—but by taking a step forward with a Georgia in hand, something shifts.
At that point, the drink becomes more than just a drink—and that’s the fun of it, isn’t it?

Hee, hee, hee, hee,EPO

This commercial, which also suggests ways to use McDonald’s beyond just meals, is memorable for Aoi Miyazaki enjoying a Japanese-style Ichigo Daifuku Pie so deliciously.
The song is “Uh Fu Fu Fu,” released by EPO in 1983.
Even though it’s quite an old track, it has retained its freshness and is recognized as a standard tune, isn’t it?
Dream Space TravelSazan Ōrusutāzu

This commercial depicts Shohei Ohtani sleeping soundly and being able to focus on baseball thanks to nishikawa’s AIR, which pursues high-quality sleep.
For busy modern people, getting quality sleep is extremely important, and it seems more people are investing in it.
The Southern All Stars’ song “Yume no Uchū Ryokō” is used as the BGM, which feels like a perfect fit for the image of Ohtani making fans’ dreams come true and the manufacturer fulfilling the dream of better sleep.
Deer-Colored DaysPan Megumi, Fujita Saki

This is a commercial that showcases the appeal of GoroGura to a rhythmic track.
It highlights GoroGura’s biggest selling points: the size and abundance of its ingredients.
The song playing in the CM is a parody of “Shika-iro Days,” the theme song of the anime “Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan.” In addition to recreating the dance, the cute original illustrations also leave a strong impression.
