Irresistible for 3-year-olds! A collection of fun Halloween craft ideas to make

Here’s a helpful tip for anyone looking for Halloween crafts for three-year-olds! With projects like tissue-paper stained glass, shaker wands, and cotton-ball ghosts, kids can enjoy textures and sounds for a sensory-rich experience.

From painting with watercolors and tearing paper to kneading clay, these activities let children create while exploring how different materials feel.

As they make things, their imagination will grow, too.

We’re sharing cute craft ideas that are perfect for decorating your Halloween party.

Since the children’s creations are treated as works of art, we use the term “seisaku” (作品/制作) in the text to refer to them.

Halloween bag

Here’s a handmade Halloween bag idea that’s perfect for three-year-olds.

It only takes a single sheet of origami paper, so it works well in childcare settings with many children.

First, fold the paper into a triangle and then fold up the bottom corner.

Next, fold it in half and use scissors to cut it, leaving a handle section intact, and fold the cut parts inward.

Finally, unfold the bottom corner back to its original position and glue it down to finish.

With just a few simple steps, children can make a bag that exercises fine motor skills and gives them a sense of accomplishment while enjoying the fun of origami.

Triangle Monster Garland

This is a triangular monster garland you can use to decorate a room for Halloween.

It’s fun to make and fun to display—perfect for creating in early childhood settings! Fold origami paper into a triangle, crease it, then open it.

Fold both sides toward the center line, and fold the remaining corners to complete one piece.

You can keep making pieces with the same steps, and enjoy lots of variations just by changing the patterns.

It’s a fun idea to decorate with Halloween-themed characters like pumpkins, ghosts, and bats.

Try making these as an activity to help 2-year-olds practice their fine motor skills!

Moving Halloween Skeleton

When you think of Halloween, many people picture ghosts.

Here, we’ll show you how to make a skeleton toy that a 4-year-old can create.

You’ll need paper cups, three straws, a tool for making holes like an awl, construction paper, writing utensils, and tape.

To make it, first punch three holes in the paper cup.

Insert the straws into the holes.

Gather the ends of the three straws with tape and trim them to the desired leg length.

Next, draw a skeleton’s face and hands on the construction paper, cut them out, and stick them onto the cup—and you’re done! If you pull the legs, the hands will move, so kids can also enjoy it as pretend play.

The Halloween season is coming! Speaking of Halloween, pumpkins are a must, right? Here’s a fun way for 4-year-olds to make a jack-o’-lantern.

You’ll need newspaper, glue, and origami paper in your favorite pumpkin colors.

How to make it: First, make six “candies” out of newspaper.

Gather one end of each candy and fold it inward.

Then gather the other end at the top, and your pumpkin is complete! After that, use origami paper in your favorite colors to decorate and enjoy making your very own original pumpkin.

Halloween monsters made with water balloons

Water balloons have a soft, squishy feel that kids love.

That tactile sensation is said to be great for stimulating children’s curiosity and senses.

For this Halloween monster craft using water balloons, prepare water balloons, construction paper, paint, and cotton swabs.

Dip the water balloon in paint and dab it to create monsters in your favorite colors.

Once it’s dry, stick on a mouth and eyes, then use cotton swabs to add color around the monster.

Through this activity, children can learn how to adjust hand pressure and enjoy the fun of exploring colors.

Halloween · cute horror song (191109) – PeriTune

The Halloween phrase “trick or treat” is said to mean “If you don’t give me candy, I’ll play a trick on you.” This time, we’re introducing a popular Halloween craft using paint.

Dab paint onto construction paper with a cotton swab.

Once the paint dries, cut it into candy shapes, add a little ghost, and you’re done! If you ask the children what color candy they want to make as you go, it will get them even more excited for Halloween.

Have fun making it!

Jack-o’-lantern made with a footprint

In October, many children look forward to Halloween.

So here’s a craft I’d like to introduce: “Jack-o’-lanterns made from footprints.” There are two main steps.

First, prepare white paper and orange paint.

Then apply the paint to the feet and press footprints onto the paper in a row.

This should create a silhouette that looks like a pumpkin.

Finally, add eye and mouth pieces to the pumpkin, and it’s done.

One of the charms of this idea is that when you look back at it later, you can feel how much the child has grown.
