Glittering Ghost Wreath
Let’s make a sparkly ghost wreath using a paper plate.
Since we only want to use the rim, fold the plate in half and cut out the inner circle with scissors.
Cut the ghost parts out of construction paper and let the children draw the faces however they like.
Twist or tear aluminum foil into long strips and wrap them around the paper plate; once the white areas are covered, draw patterns on it with a pen.
Punch a hole at the top of the plate, thread a ribbon through, and attach the ghost parts to finish! The aluminum foil will sparkle, making the wreath look very festive.
Spiderweb bag
How about making a spiderweb bag that lets you enjoy lacing? Stack two paper plates and cut an opening that will become the bag’s mouth.
Glue the rims of the plates together, then use a hole punch to make evenly spaced holes.
Choose two colors of yarn and thread them through the holes you made.
Pass both strands through the first hole together, then continue threading one strand at a time however you like.
Finally, thread them through the topmost hole and tie them in a bow.

Here’s how to make a jack-o’-lantern using colored construction paper.
First, accordion-fold orange construction paper.
Fold it in half and attach the seam with double-sided tape.
Make three identical pieces, stick them together with double-sided tape, and form a circle.
Attach the pre-cut eyes, nose, and mouth with double-sided tape.
Finally, add a pipe-cleaner handle, and it’s done.
If you use black construction paper, you can make a black cat, too.
If you’re using origami paper, you’ll need four accordion-folded parts.

Fluffy Ghost
Here’s a crafting idea for a fluffy ghost that also offers a fun sensory experience.
First, place a paper cup upside down and fix half of a capsule toy on top.
Make a hole on the side of the paper cup, then make another hole directly opposite it.
Insert chenille stems (pipe cleaners) through both holes and secure them so they point upward.
With the base complete, prepare a wide container filled with liquid laundry starch (or laundry glue).
Cut a piece of gauze to a size that can cover the paper cup, then soak it in the laundry starch.
Squeeze it well, spread it out, and drape it over the paper cup.
Finally, attach facial features for the ghost, and your fluffy ghost is complete.
Bat candy bag
Bats are one of the most popular Halloween motifs, aren’t they? So why not make a bat-themed treat bag? You’ll need three things: a paper cup, origami paper, and string.
Choose any color of origami paper you like and tear it into small pieces.
Punch a hole near the rim of the paper cup, then punch another hole on the opposite side.
Glue the torn pieces of origami paper onto the cup, and attach bat wings made from construction paper.
Finally, thread the string through the holes, and your treat bag is ready!
Halloween Fukuwarai
Let’s make a Halloween “fukuwarai” using a technique called decalcomania.
Cut construction paper into a pumpkin shape, then fold it in half.
Open the paper, place paint in colors you like on one inside half, and fold it in half again.
Press firmly, then open it—the paint has transferred to the other side, creating a symmetrical pattern.
Attach a pumpkin stem made from green construction paper and a triangular hat made from origami to finish the base.
Finally, cut out the pumpkin’s facial features from black construction paper.
