relay race
Let’s compete seriously while following the rules! Here are some ideas for a competitive relay.
The events for the older class are really thrilling, aren’t they? Among them, relays are something that can excite both children and adults.
Watching them aim for first place while keeping their promise to run the designated course is sure to be moving! Including a competitive relay in your sports day can really highlight the children’s growth.
It’s a good idea to decide on rules in advance, such as how to pass the baton and how to overtake.
tug of war

A classic crowd-pleasing event! Here are some ideas for a tug-of-war.
Many parents and teachers may remember competing in tug-of-war when they were young.
Why not hold a tug-of-war as a timeless activity that still gets everyone excited? As each team comes up with strategies and puts them into practice, it can be a great opportunity for children to grow.
They can learn a lot by understanding winning and losing and by keeping promises while participating.
Give it a try!
Balloon Carry Relay
@bear_kids_official We held a “Balloon Carry Relay,” fostering the ability to cooperate with friends and encouraging a consultative, collaborative attitude. The children called out to one another and worked together while matching their timing. This relay is effective for improving cooperation skills and sense of balance.After-school day serviceChild Development SupportCooperativenessSense of balance

Here’s a fun balloon-carrying relay where you work together with a friend.
Form pairs, hold a balloon between two paper cups so it doesn’t fall, and carry it to the goal—simple and enjoyable! If your strength and speed aren’t in sync, the balloon may drop along the way and you might not make it to the goal, so communicate with each other and aim for the finish.
If you drop the balloon, start again from where it fell.
Make sure you have plenty of space and be careful not to bump into friends.
Doing it in teams is also recommended.
shopping relay

If you want to add a twist to a relay, we also recommend the “Shopping Relay.” This event combines elements of a relay with a beanbag toss.
Runners on each team carry a basket on their backs, collect beanbags in their team color, return to the start, and pass off to the next runner.
The team that retrieves all of its beanbags first wins.
It keeps the cooperative appeal of a relay while boosting the game-like fun.
ball toss (traditional Japanese beanbag/ball-throwing game)

Tamaire is a classic sports day event loved by people of all ages.
The rules are simple: throw red or white balls into a basket mounted on a pole.
Teams compete to see who can get the most balls into the basket within the time limit.
Because participants can move around freely, it’s perfect for programs featuring older kindergarteners.
It also works well when paired with songs popular among children, such as nursery rhymes and anime themes.
This event both strengthens bonds among teammates and energizes the sports day.
