A self-supporting mushroom

Let’s decorate your room with mushrooms you’ve made! Here’s an idea for mushrooms that can stand on their own.
All you need are origami papers in your favorite colors and patterns, plus glue or tape runner.
The step where you open the origami’s pocket and fold it is a bit tricky, but it’s an important point! Since these standing mushrooms can be placed anywhere, they’ll make your room look cute and lively.
Fold origami in colors and patterns you love and make mushrooms that match your space! It also sounds fun to decorate them with pens or stickers.

Rabbit bookmark
https://www.tiktok.com/@sachimama_asobi/video/7277174138324700417Let’s make your very own special bookmark! Here’s an idea for a bunny bookmark.
What you’ll need: origami paper in colors or patterns you like, black round stickers, and pens or colored pencils.
By using your favorite colors and patterns to create a bunny bookmark, reading is sure to become even more fun.
You can add personality by using the black round stickers for the eyes and drawing expressions with pens or colored pencils—that’s a key point! The design slips neatly over the corner of a page, so it’s practical while also being super cute.
Highly recommended!
Pacific saury

Great for autumn crafts! Here’s a fun idea for making a Pacific saury (sanma).
You’ll need one sheet of origami paper, colored pencils, and scissors.
Sanma is a classic autumn fish that really captures the season’s appetite.
First, fold the origami paper into a triangle, then unfold it and fold both sides toward the crease.
Next, fold one third inward, and repeat on the other side.
Make small cuts at the tip with scissors, fold it diagonally inward, then fold it outward.
Fold the opposite side toward the center, flip it over, and draw the pattern—done! Add details with colored pencils to make your sanma look even more realistic.
Full Moon Rabbit

Here’s a way to make a full moon and a rabbit from a single sheet of origami paper.
Start with yellow origami paper, color side facing in, and begin with the double-layer boat base, stopping when only one side is folded into a boat.
Fold the left and right corners of the boat section upward, leaving a small gap at the center line.
Next, fold the left and right corners diagonally inward, then tuck in the top corner to shape the rabbit’s ears.
Use scissors to make slits on the top layer on both sides; then make small cuts at the lower part of the rabbit so the bottom becomes rectangular, and continue folding to refine the shape of the rabbit’s face.
Fold the rabbit so it sits on top of the yellow paper.
For the yellow moon, tuck in the corners to round it into a circle, and you’re done! Feel free to draw the face as you like.
mushroom

Mushrooms with cute shapes are a perfect motif to make together with children! If you’re looking for a September craft, try making this autumn-themed project with origami.
The basic method is very simple, so even young children can work on it with a teacher.
You can also add patterns to the mushroom caps with pens, stamps, or stickers to suit the children’s ages.
Once they get the hang of it, you can make lots of them and enjoy pretend play, too!
squirrel

A squirrel is a small animal with a fluffy tail and an adorable expression! It’s very cute, so it makes a fall motif that children will love.
The method is very simple: make the head and body separately, then attach them together at the end.
Finish by drawing the squirrel’s facial features, and you’re done! Making it in a basic brown gives it a nice seasonal feel, but you can also use your favorite color of origami paper to create a unique piece.
Let the children’s creativity lead the way and enjoy making it freely.
Halloween origami wreath
You often see wreaths around Christmastime.
It’s also a great idea to decorate with a Halloween-themed version of one.
You can even make it using only origami, so it’s perfect if you want the children to take the lead in a craft activity.
Another feature of this Halloween wreath is how easy it is to add originality.
Try placing a ghost in the center of the wreath, or a black cat—come up with whatever designs you like.
There are many folding instructions available online, so it’s a good idea to look those up as well.
