A distinctive feature of ACIDMAN’s music is that many of their songs incorporate a wide range of musical elements.Because they draw from various genres, their music is likely embraced by a broad audience—perhaps that’s the secret to their popularity.I’ve put together a selection of ACIDMAN’s popular tracks, so please give them a listen!

ACIDMAN’s famous and popular songs (21–30)

Waves, whiteACIDMAN

From the 2nd album, “Loop.” It’s a fierce yet beautiful track where an impressive rhythm suddenly kicks in out of a spacious soundscape.

As the title “Waves, White” suggests, the water-inspired sound design really stands out, evoking a variety of watery scenes.

The Shining One(s)ACIDMAN

ACIDMAN – Shining (Theme song for the movie “Golden Kamuy”)
The Shining One(s)ACIDMAN

A song by ACIDMAN written as the theme for the film Golden Kamuy.

True to the band’s grand worldview centered on life and the universe, it sets the emotional lives of people surviving in the great outdoors to a rock sound.

Released as a single CD in January 2024, it was followed by a release‑celebration live show at Tokyo Dome City Hall in February of the same year.

This work showcases ACIDMAN’s full talent for portraying the beauty of life and the cosmos through rock.

Its bold yet delicate melodies will move not only long‑time fans but also new listeners.

It’s the perfect track for moments when you want to be swept away by the majesty of nature.

FREE STARACIDMAN

This is the lead track from ACIDMAN’s sixth album, “LIFE.” According to guitarist-vocalist Nobuo Oki, it tells the story of a city that slipped out of the solar system’s orbit after an interplanetary war.

In this city where light no longer reaches, light has become a commodity, and the song evokes a sci-fi image centered on children who gather remnants of light from the past.

It’s a work that highlights the band’s hallmark melodic lines and sonic beauty, and it has become a signature song recognized by all—so much so that they later used its title for the name of the independent office they established.

REMINDACIDMAN

This is one of the tracks included as the lead song on the 13th single, “REMIND.” Overall, it’s a very fast-paced number, but even within that momentum there are quieter sections, which in turn make the drive feel even more intense.

Personally, I found the arpeggios in the quieter parts more enjoyable to listen to than the sections overflowing with speed.

Stay in my handACIDMAN

This is the title track of ACIDMAN’s 24th single, a song that bursts forward from an intro driven by an aggressive sound.

It’s a no-frills masterpiece where the powerful yet transparent voice of guitarist-vocalist Nobuo Oki and the simple arrangement unique to a three-piece band truly resonate.

In particular, the classic structure—dropping down in the bridge (C-melo) and reaching a peak at the final chorus—shines in this track, and the music video matches that tension, growing increasingly frenzied as it races toward the end.

UNFOLDACIDMAN

This is the 14th single, released on November 28, 2007.

ONFOLD is one of the three primary colors of light as imagined for the series, and its color is blue.

Incidentally, the 13th single, REMIND, is red, and the single Shikibi, released in spring 2008, is green.

A chorus surges in that you’d never expect from the arpeggiated intro—this is truly a song you’ll fall in love with once you hear it.

Your SongACIDMAN

ACIDMAN – Your Song (Second line & Acoustic live at Shibuya Public Hall 2011-10-13)
Your SongACIDMAN

This is an acoustic version of a track included on the debut album Sou, released in 2002.

The song is notable for its refreshing chord progression, and the acoustic arrangement enhances that freshness even more.

Oki’s husky vocals leave a strong impression.
