A distinctive feature of ACIDMAN’s music is that many of their songs incorporate a wide range of musical elements.Because they draw from various genres, their music is likely embraced by a broad audience—perhaps that’s the secret to their popularity.I’ve put together a selection of ACIDMAN’s popular tracks, so please give them a listen!

ACIDMAN’s famous and popular songs (21–30)

Your SongACIDMAN

ACIDMAN – Your Song (Second line & Acoustic live at Shibuya Public Hall 2011-10-13)
Your SongACIDMAN

This is an acoustic version of a track included on the debut album Sou, released in 2002.

The song is notable for its refreshing chord progression, and the acoustic arrangement enhances that freshness even more.

Oki’s husky vocals leave a strong impression.

AlchemistACIDMAN

This is one of the songs included on the 21st single, “Alchemist.” This track is also crafted with gentle vocals and a soft band sound, creating a heartwarming feel.

The “Alchemist” in the title refers to a practitioner of alchemy, and in the song’s story, they seem to turn dreams into stars and deliver those stars to their dearest “someone.” It’s a song that leaves you very curious as to whether that role is ultimately fulfilled.

ACIDMAN’s classic and popular songs (31–40)

AllegroACIDMAN

In musical terminology, “allegro” means “fast,” while in Italian it means “cheerful.” Which is it in this case? The cleverly crafted guitar phrases are striking, and those aiming for a three-piece guitar-and-vocals setup may find it a good reference.

The three pre-debut singles drew attention at the time for being released at 300 yen each.

New WorldACIDMAN

This is the title track of ACIDMAN’s 22nd single, brimming with their signature sense of speed and a stark contrast between stillness and motion.

It features an intense, aggressive sound that surges forward as if unleashing raw emotion, paired with a beautiful melodic line carried by powerful, crystalline vocals.

The chorus is arranged to make sing-alongs easy.

The work has a fully realized worldview and is highly engaging to listen to.

The single’s jacket uses an image of the star R Sculptoris, observed with the ALMA radio telescope.

Black and whiteACIDMAN

ACIDMAN – White and Black (Theme song for the drama “Double Cheat”)
Black and whiteACIDMAN

ACIDMAN is a three-piece rock band that has gained popularity for a sound rooted in power pop and post-rock.

They’re extremely popular in the rock scene and have been steadily producing hit songs.

Among their tracks, the one I especially recommend is Shiro to Kuro (White and Black).

This song incorporates a jazz flavor and maintains a downbeat mood throughout.

It also features quite a few phrases with a hint of classic Japanese pop (kayōkyoku), making it a great recommendation for men over 40 as well.

RebirthACIDMAN

Non-credit ACIDMAN “Rebirth” | [Anime] Ahiru no Sora | Opening
RebirthACIDMAN

This is a song chosen as the fourth cour opening theme for the TV Tokyo–affiliated anime Ahiru no Sora.

Created by the rock band ACIDMAN, it was released as a digital single in September 2020.

It features a groovy bassline and an emotionally charged development in the chorus.

The lyrics sing of the courage to overcome adversity and be reborn as a new self.

It’s a recommended track not only for basketball and anime fans, but also for students dedicated to their club activities.

The Night the World EndsACIDMAN

ACIDMAN is a rock band that has long led the alternative rock scene in Japanese music.

You often see them performing songs like “Akadai” at live shows and music festivals.

Among their tracks, a standout recommendation is “The Night the World Ends,” released in 2014.

It explores grand themes like the universe and life, giving it the appeal of an art piece.

The classical elements layered onto their simple, powerful band sound are also striking.

Even if you’ve seen them at a festival but don’t know many of their other songs, give this one a listen.
