Origami hanging ornament

Introducing an origami hanging decoration that you’ll get so absorbed in making, you’ll lose track of time.
First, take a 15 cm sheet of origami paper and cut it into four equal squares.
Take one of the pieces and fold it into a triangle twice.
Draw two lines parallel to the base of the triangle, spaced 1 cm apart.
On the line closer to the base, make a cut but leave a small margin at the ends; on the other line, cut all the way through to remove that strip.
Repeat the same folding and cutting for the remaining three pieces.
Stack the pieces in pairs with the colored sides facing inward and staple them together.
Glue the left and right corners of the diamond shape on both the front and back to form the parts.
Glue two of these parts together to complete one ornament.
Once the ornament is finished, attach a thread and hang it up to enjoy.
Recreating Disney park food!

Perfect for a summer vacation science project! Let’s make a “Little Green Men Squishy.” You know them as popular Disney characters.
These cute and unique Little Green Men can be turned into a squishy with a soft, bouncy feel.
It’s a hands-on craft where you can create a mysterious toy that looks just like the real thing and feels great to squeeze.
All you need are liquid foundation sponges from the 100-yen shop, fast-drying clear glue, and acrylic paint.
Finish a Disney park-style treat that looks real, and enjoy your summer vacation!
Handmade shaker coaster

Introducing original handmade “shaker” coasters that capture the feel of the seasons.
Gather styrofoam board, background design paper, a clear file, plastic sheet, double-sided tape, beads or seashells, and sand, and let’s get started.
First, decide what kind of coaster you want to make.
Cut the styrofoam board to create the coaster base.
Attach the base pieces together for the bottom section.
Apply masking tape around the edges, add seashells and sand inside, then seal it with the lid using double-sided tape—and you’re done! Give it a try!
gel candle

At 100-yen shops, you can find a product called gel candles, and with them you can easily make homemade candles.
Gel candles are easy to handle, and you can even pour two different colors one on top of the other to create a two-layer candle.
The way the colors blend slightly between the layers also gives it a lovely look.
Plus, by placing items you like—such as colored sand, seashells, or dried flowers—into the glass before pouring in the gel candle, you can create a more stylish and original piece.
Give it a try and make one with your own sense of style.
Original T-shirts made with stencil printing

How about making your own T-shirt over summer vacation? We’ll use a technique called stenciling to create an original T-shirt.
You place a cutout of letters or illustrations on the fabric and paint over it with ink or other pigments.
Since you’ll wear the T-shirt, you’ll likely wash it too.
When stenciling on T-shirts or fabric, be sure to use fabric ink that won’t wash out.
While this can be a summer vacation homework project, it can also become a fun summer memory.
You might even make matching T-shirts for the whole family.
There are stencil T-shirt kits available online, so why not give them a try?
Stone painting

During summer vacation, there are times when you go out with your family to rivers or mountains, right? When you do, why not try picking up stones and making art with them? Of course, stones you’ve collected from around your neighborhood are fine, too.
First, paint the stones you’ve prepared with white acrylic paint.
This small extra step will help your work turn out beautifully.
Then, use acrylic paints to create animals, plants, and more by adding color.
If you also use items like pipe cleaners or empty cans, you can make pieces that look very realistic.
Please use this as a reference and give it a try!

Accessory box made from an empty box

Some children who love fashion may have lots of charms for rings or clothes, right? Since they can easily get lost, it’s handy to have a box that can store them all together.
Here’s an accessory box that’s practical too.
You can make it with an empty box you already have at home.
Add thickness by attaching pieces cut from a quilted surface to the lid and the sides of the box.
The soft, cushioned thickness gives it a luxurious feel, turning it into a proper jewelry box.
If you roll up some felt fabric and place it inside the box, you can store rings neatly.
The finished product won’t look like it was made from an empty box, so give it a try for inspiration!
