N.E.OMana, Kana, Yuna (CHAI)

CHAI, an individuality-packed girl band that champions the concept of “NEO Kawaii,” includes three members out of four who hail from Aichi Prefecture.
Drawing on roots in overseas punk, dance, and alternative, their sound is both wildly rocking and irresistibly groovy.
In 2016, they won the grand prize in a Sony Music–hosted contest and released the EP Hotarara Series.
The following year, after performing at a festival in the United States, they went on to successfully complete back-to-back tours across the U.S.
and the U.K., earning attention from around the world.
BxMxCMOAMETAL(BABYMETAL)

BABYMETAL, a metal-dance unit that enjoys high popularity overseas, was formed in 2010 with the concept of “fusing idols and metal.” MOAMETAL, the member in charge of screams and dance, is from Nagoya City in Aichi Prefecture.
Their secret to success lies in the contrast between loud metal sounds and idol-like dance performances, showing that the appeal of such a gap is universal.
Their talent is undeniable as well, having served as the opening act for artists like Lady Gaga, Metallica, and Guns N’ Roses.
Hug Me Anthemchīmu shachihoko

Team Syachihoko is an idol group formed by female talents from Aichi Prefecture who live in Nagoya.
In 2018, they changed their name to TEAM SHACHI and have been active based in Nagoya.
In 2015, they released “Tensai Bakabon” as the opening theme for the film Tensai Bakavon: Flanders no Inu wa Naze Shinda? (The Genius Bakavon: The Return of the Dog of Flanders), which ranked 4th on the Oricon singles chart.
Also that same year, their single “Kaiju Tottoto” was featured on NHK’s music program Minna no Uta.

This is a girls’ rock band from Aichi Prefecture that was active from 2007 to 2019.
What first endeared them to many rock fans was TANK! the AUDITION held in 2012.
They won the Grand Prix at this audition and performed at TREASURE05X, an outdoor festival in Nagoya.
Their music was characterized by an energetic, pop-influenced style, and their bright stage performances that drew in the audience were a major appeal.
Although the band sadly disbanded in 2019, their music videos and live footage from that time remain available, so please check them out.

Yurina Hirate, who hails from Aichi Prefecture, is a former member of the idol group Keyakizaka46 and an artist active in many fields as an actress, model, singer, and dancer.
She served as the center for Keyakizaka46’s debut single “Silent Majority,” and is affectionately known to fans as “Techi.” She made her first lead appearance in the 2018 film “Hibiki,” and the following year won the Newcomer of the Year Award at the 42nd Japan Academy Film Prize.
In her second digital-only solo single, “Kakegae no Nai Sekai” (An Irreplaceable World), she showcases sharp, dynamic dance moves.
MIRRORHARUNA、MAMI(SCANDAL)

Formed in 2006 in Kyobashi, Osaka, SCANDAL is an all-girl rock band with half of its members hailing from Aichi Prefecture.
Their major-label debut single “DOLL,” released in 2008, received power play on 40 radio stations, and their first album, “BEST★SCANDAL,” released the following year, ranked No.
5 on the Oricon Albums Chart.
In 2022, marking their 15th anniversary, they released their 10th album, “MIRROR,” and embarked on a world tour, cementing their status as one of Japan’s leading bands.

Miliyah Kato, who marked her 15th anniversary in 2020, is an artist from Toyota City in Aichi Prefecture.
