Over driveJUDY AND MARY

Drummer Kota Igarashi is from Kawasaki City.
The members are all from different places, aren’t they? YUKI is from Hokkaido, for instance.
Just as they come from different places, the four members each have distinct personalities, yet they never waver and have a solid core—that’s what makes them cool.
I think this is a band that will absolutely never reunite.
And that, too, is cool.
Look up at the skyShirai Takako

Takako Shirai is from Fujisawa City in Kanagawa Prefecture, and this was released in 1997 as her 15th single.
The song was used as the ending theme for the latter half of the first season of the TBS TV anime “You’re Under Arrest,” with both lyrics and music written by Takako Shirai.
A miracle that feels like a lieaobouzu

A four-piece band from Odawara, Kanagawa, Aobozu.
Before their major-label debut, they had a predecessor band called Blue Boze, a Blue Hearts cover band.
While rooted in youth punk, their appeal lies in music that fuses vocalist Hozzy’s warm yet forward-looking singing with solid rock.
This song centers on the theme of “parting,” with rebirth as a motif.
It’s a warm track where words that might seem overly straightforward truly shine thanks to the band’s earnest singing and performance.

Ah, that got me.Kondō Masahiko

Masahiko Kondo, who hails from Yamato City in Kanagawa Prefecture, released this as his 28th single in 1988.
The song was provided by Takuro Yoshida and carries a “breaking away from idol” vibe, aiming for the image of an adult male singer.
It won the Gold Prize at the 30th Japan Record Awards and was performed at the 39th NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen.
Stop the camera!Sekitori Hana

Hana Sekitori is often described as a standout female singer-songwriter.
Although she spent her early childhood in Germany, she was born and raised in Yokohama.
She took part in PlayYou.house, the predecessor to Goose House, so many people may know her from that time.
She now continues to work as a solo artist, and her soft, distinctive voice—almost emblematic of her—along with songs and lyrics that strike a deep chord, are especially appealing.
If you enjoy clean, straightforward singer-songwriter music, she’s an artist you should definitely check out.
fragileTOKIO

The vocalist Tomoya Nagase is from Yokohama.
This song was used as the theme song for the drama “Fragile,” in which Nagase himself starred.
The lyrics and music were written by Nagase.
In creating this song, he read the original work and the manga and then wrote it specifically for the show.
MPRINCESS PRINCESS

Kyoko Tomita, the drummer, is from Yokohama.
This song was the B-side to “DIAMOND,” but many women resonated with its heartrending lyrics, and it became one of Princess Princess’s signature songs as well.
It’s said that the lyrics reflect the real-life experiences of the lyricist, Kyoko Tomita.
