Taka Hirose, the bassist of the British rock band Feeder, is from Hozumi, Gifu Prefecture.

“Find The Colour,” included on their fourth album Comfort in Sound, was used as the theme song for Nissan’s Elgrand commercial.

Shigeru Iwaku, who performed as the blue triangle ruler of the folk group, is from Gifu Prefecture.

The song Season Given by the Sun, which was chosen as the theme for the Nippon TV series Fly Out! Youth, became a huge hit, selling over one million copies.

It was later included in music textbooks for elementary and junior high schools.

ANTY the KUNOICHI, who grew up in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture, rides across a wide range of genres with hip-hop as her foundation.

Drawing on a broad musical background from childhood, her hallmark is a genreless musical style.

She made her full-fledged debut in 2004 with a guest appearance on TOKONA-X’s track “Toukai X Teio,” and garnered major attention in 2007 by featuring on AI’s song “Butterfly.” She has produced numerous works, including the album “PUMP ME UP!!,” and will celebrate the 20th anniversary of her debut in 2025.

Her energetic sound is embraced by fans who crave powerful music.

Hailing from Gifu, they began their activities at university in 2006, crafting an emotional rock sound that uniquely distilled influences from overseas emo bands.

In May 2010, a keyboardist and drummer joined, ushering in a new lineup, and the following year, in 2011, they energetically released their full-length album Crystal Mind & Sense.

It’s also memorable that they shared the stage with prominent bands like 10-FEET and UNISON SQUARE GARDEN.

While it seems they have since ended their activities, their poignant, melodious sound will likely resonate with fans of Japanese rock and emo from that era.

HIKIGANE SOUND is a hip-hop crew that embodies Gifu’s street culture.

Based in Yanagase, Gifu City, they deliver rap packed with the real language and atmosphere of the streets, making their presence indispensable in the Tokai hip-hop scene.

On their 2021 album “NINE BULLETS,” released in their 10th anniversary year, the mic relay showcasing each member’s individuality is breathtaking.

Member Rekkō boasts impressive achievements, including winning the 9th High School RAP Championship and conquering the national MC battle tournament “KING OF KINGS 2022.” Their commitment to hosting events as a crew and energizing their hometown is also a key part of their appeal.

EverythingMORNING GLORY

This is a melodic hardcore band formed in July 2003 in Takayama, Gifu Prefecture.

Based in their hometown of Takayama, they continued their activities and, after releasing the mini-album “Little Voice” in March 2008, consistently put out new works.

They’re also known for providing a support song for the local professional soccer team, FC Gifu.

The combination of vocalist Rimina’s clear, cute voice and the band’s exhilarating sound is truly captivating.

Their fast-paced, pop-punk sound captured the hearts of many listeners.
