She made her full-fledged debut in November 2008 with the mini-album “Aroma.” A standout feature of her career is her strong connection to her hometown of Gifu.

Since 2009, she has served as a “supporting artist” for the J.League club FC Gifu, and her work on rallying songs to inspire the team is well known among fans.

Snowsheep is a solo unit centered around vocalist SAHO, who hails from Gifu Prefecture.

They made their major debut in 2010 with a digital single, releasing tracks such as “Yomikake no Hon” (Half-Read Book) and “Polaroid.” The greatest appeal lies in SAHO’s clear, expansive vocals—unexpected from her slender frame—and lyrics that resonate with listeners.

FANATIC◇CRISIS is a five-member visual kei band formed in 1992, centered around vocalist Ishizuki.

Four of the five members, excluding Ishizuki, are from Gifu Prefecture.

With their pop-leaning rock sound, they gained a large fanbase and were even called one of the “Four Heavenly Kings of Visual Kei” around 1997.

Although they disbanded in 2005, the members have continued their activities individually since then.

Sugi, the guitarist of the loud rock band coldrain formed in Nagoya in 2007, is from Gifu Prefecture.

Because Gifu is close to Aichi, quite a few members of bands active in Nagoya are from Gifu.

coldrain is now a band with worldwide popularity, and Sugi has been an original member since the band’s formation.

Sugi mainly handles rhythm guitar and also contributes with backing vocals and shout parts.

Takashi Hisatomi, known as Dont, from the hugely popular late-1980s to 1990s band Bo Gumbos, was born in Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture.

He sadly passed away in 2000 at the young age of 37.
