Izumi Makura, a hip-hop MC based in Fukuoka Prefecture, is a rapper known for her whispery, husky voice.
She began her music career in 2011 and debuted in 2012 on the label Jetsnoah (Subenoana).
While rooted in hip-hop, she has built a unique world that incorporates elements of pop and electronica.
Her music has drawn strong media attention, appearing as insert songs on the TV show Terrace House and in Shiseido web videos; she also won Gold and Bronze at the 2016 ACC CM Festival.
Her artwork is created by Tomoko Oshima, whose melancholic girl illustrations visually express Makura’s delicate musical sensibility.
Portraying everyday scenes and emotions from a young woman’s perspective through her distinctive timbre and lyrics, Izumi Makura’s music is perfect for those who want to spend a calm, quiet time.
SoupFujihara Sakura

Sakura Fujiwara was born in 1995 and hails from Fukuoka City in Fukuoka Prefecture.
Fukuoka really does produce so many wonderful singer-songwriters.
She, too, is captivating for her songs and vocals that convey a simple, timeless appeal.
Her gentle, heartwarming voice fits perfectly with everyday moments when you want to relax.
She made her acting debut in the Monday 9 p.m.
drama “Love Song,” performed the theme song, and it also drew attention that Masaharu Fukuyama was involved with that track.

Mia, the central figure and vocalist of the music unit Sangatsu no Phantasia—which features multiple creators such as composers and illustrators—is also an artist from Kyushu.
Based on the unit’s concept of “imagining stories of endings and beginnings,” she leads the music production with original novels she writes herself, captivating listeners with uniquely imaginative songs born from a meticulously crafted worldview and clear artistic direction.
With tie-ins across TV anime, games, and commercials, she is a noteworthy artist whose broad acclaim is evident.
FREERMukai Taichi

A singer-songwriter from Fukuoka, Kyushu, who is gaining attention with music that defies a single genre label, rooted in R&B while incorporating elements of alternative, ambient, and electronic.
“FREER,” included as a bonus track on the 2017 debut album BLUE, was featured in a commercial, and songs like “Reset” and “Michi” were later used in the TV anime Run with the Wind, so many of you may have already encountered their music.
Not limited to activity in Japan, they also successfully completed an Asia tour in 2019, making them an artist to watch for their future work overseas as well.

A singer-songwriter from Kyushu’s Fukuoka Prefecture who joined a talent agency in junior high school but continued to pursue her childhood dream of music, making her major debut in 2014.
Her fifth single, “Furetara Kieteshimau,” was featured in numerous tie-ins, including as the ending theme for the internet TV show “Minomonta no Yoru Buzz!,” as well as on local TV programs, radio broadcasts, and in games—so many of you may have heard it.
Guided by a belief that she didn’t want to confine music to genres, she began writing and composing her own songs, and you can feel her strong passion for music in her work.
MotionNishiuchi Mariya

A singer-songwriter from Kyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, who has made her mark across a wide range of fields including fashion modeling, TV personality work, and acting.
She began her career as a model in 2007, and when she launched her singing career in 2014, she won the 56th Japan Record Awards New Artist Award and Best New Artist Award, as well as the 47th Japan Cable Radio Awards New Artist Award—achievements that drew widespread attention to her exceptional potential.
From 2015, she began working as a singer-songwriter who writes and composes her own music, and her seventh single, “Motion,” was chosen as the theme song for the drama “Suddenly, I Will Marry Tomorrow,” in which she also starred—showcasing her extraordinary, boundary-defying talent.

LinQ is a female idol group based in Fukuoka, formed from 33 members selected in an audition in February 2011.
Their history began on April 17 of the same year at IMS Hall.
Centered on J-pop, they incorporate a wide range of musical styles such as anime songs, disco, and funk.
Their use of Hakata dialect in lyrics and locally flavored songs is one of their charms.
In 2013, they made their major-label debut with Warner Music Japan and ranked high on the Oricon Weekly Chart, proving their strong abilities.
Holding titles such as one of the “Big Four Local Idols” and being inducted into the “Local Idol Hall of Fame,” they have earned high praise for their community-based activities.
