Hailing from Saga Prefecture, Kotaro is a singer-songwriter.

He began his career in 2019 under the name Kotaro (written as 虎太朗 at the time), when he was still a high school student.

Based in Fukuoka Prefecture, he has been expanding his range of activities.

In 2020, he released EPs such as “Trivia” and “Utility,” and in 2021 he changed his artist name to Kotaro, releasing the singles “Tsuki to Doukeshi” (The Moon and the Jester) and “Outside Hero.” His mature, stylish musicality has been drawing attention.

Incidentally, he is also a saxophonist.

Tancobuchin is a five-member girls’ band formed in Karatsu, Saga Prefecture.

All the members are the same age, and they were sixth graders in elementary school when they formed the band.

In 2013, they made their major debut as an active high school girls’ band with the single “Doremi FUN LIFE.” Their fresh, high-school-style performance drew attention, and the song was selected as the ending theme for the TV Tokyo variety show “Black Million.” That same year, they also performed at ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL, the largest outdoor music festival in Japan.

Though it was met with regret, they announced a hiatus in 2018 and held their final concert the following year.

Riko Tsutsui, a member of HKT48’s Team TII, is from Saga Prefecture.

She is the only HKT48 full member from Saga Prefecture.

She participated in “Soramimi Rock,” which is included on the 8th single, “Saikou Kayo.”

Yuuya Egashira from Saga Prefecture won the top Grand Prix as the youngest winner at the V3 Newcomer Audition hosted by Fukuoka KBC Television in 2007.

He is a singer-songwriter known for his gentle, embracing vocals, and he released his first mini album, “Umbrella,” nationwide in 2014.

An avid angler, he also composed the theme song for the Saga-based YouTube channel “Tsuri Yoka Desho.” Actress Machiko Ono, a fishing buddy of his, appears in the music video for his 2017 single “Poroporo.”

When it comes to artists known for every member being a dentist, GReeeeN comes to mind.

Among the members, SOH, who has the deepest voice, is from Saga Prefecture.

Their 2008 single “Kiseki” was used as the theme song for the TBS drama “ROOKIES” and became a massive hit, topping the Oricon singles chart for two consecutive weeks.

On the album “Ah, Domo.

Hajimemashite.” you can hear SOH’s deep voice as the lead vocal on the track “Tegami ~Kimitachi e~.”

Mr.

Hideo Murata, who is active as an enka singer and actor, is from Ouchi Town, Higashi-Matsuura District, Saga Prefecture.

His song “Osho” was a million seller and received the Special Award at the 4th Japan Record Awards.

He appeared on NHK’s Kohaku Uta Gassen 27 times, and “Osho” was performed a total of four times.

Yumiko Araki, who works as a singer and actress, is from Kanzaki Town, Kanzaki District, Saga Prefecture.

In 1976, she received the Special Jury Prize at the 1st HoriPro Talent Scout Caravan.

The following year, she debuted as an idol singer with “Nagisa o Cross.”
