Ayaka Ide, a singer-songwriter born in 1993 from Kushima City, Miyazaki Prefecture.
She had been active under her real name, Ayaka Ide (井手綾香), since her debut in 2011, but in 2015 she changed her stage name to the hiragana form, いであやか (Ide Ayaka).
She has been familiar with music from a young age, playing the piano since childhood, and in 2009 she released the indie album “TOY.” The song “Kumo no Mukō” (Beyond the Clouds) from her 2011 major-label debut mini-album “Portrait” was featured in a commercial and attracted attention; its music video was filmed in Kushima City, Miyazaki Prefecture.

Miyuna is a singer-songwriter from Miyazaki Prefecture.
Born in 2002, she became interested in music at a young age under the influence of her parents and was exposed to it from early on, launching her full-fledged career as an artist in 2018.
In 2019, she drew attention as a “promising newcomer” and a next-generation teenage artist.
And remarkably, at 17, she performed at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL ’19! Once you hear her voice, it all makes sense—you can’t help but be amazed and think, “At her age, she can sing like this? Express this much?”
RomanceHAKUEI (PENICILLIN)

HAKUEI of PENICILLIN, born in Kushima City, Miyazaki Prefecture.
PENICILLIN is known as a visual kei rock band, and their hit song “Romance” left a strong impression on me as it was the theme song for the anime Sexy Commando Gaiden: Sugoi yo!! Masaru-san.
Speaking of HAKUEI, beyond his strikingly beautiful appearance, he is also highly versatile—active in numerous bands outside of PENICILLIN and known for his work as an entrepreneur.

SAKANAMON is a three-piece band formed in 2007.
The guitarist and vocalist, Motoo Fujimori, is from Miyazaki Prefecture.
Although the three members are from different places, the band was initially formed by Fujimori and guitarist Morino, whom he met in vocational school; drummer Kimura joined later.
Fujimori writes almost all of SAKANAMON’s lyrics and composes most of their songs.
The band name reflects their desire to create music that becomes a “side dish” to listeners’ daily lives, and many fans are drawn to the songs Fujimori creates and his distinctive vocals.

DOES is a three-piece band formed in 2000.
They’re known for hit songs such as Bakuchi Dancer, the theme song for the anime Gintama.
The band’s bassist, Yasushi Akatsuka, was born in 1978 and hails from Saito City in Miyazaki Prefecture.
Although DOES announced an indefinite hiatus in 2016, they resumed activities in 2020.
During the hiatus, Akatsuka formed the band The Hosomes, where he also plays bass.
Princess MononokeMera Yoshikazu

Yonezu Yoshikazu Mera, a vocalist born in 1971 in Saito, Miyazaki Prefecture.
As a world-renowned tenor, he has performed not only across Asia but also in Europe, collaborating with many internationally famous artists.
In Japan, his name likely became widely known when he sang the theme song for Studio Ghibli’s animated film Princess Mononoke.
His voice is so clear and high that you might mistake it for a woman’s, and it’s breathtaking enough to give you goosebumps.
In recent years, he has also become a popular TV personality for his fun, lively character on variety shows.
Wakakaze SatelliteNishimura Shinya (Shunōkeru)

Shinya Nishimura is a singer-songwriter born in 1982 from Koyu District, Miyazaki Prefecture.
He made his mark as the guitarist and vocalist of the three-piece band Snorkel, formed in 2004, and also showcases his multifaceted talent as an actor, primarily on stage.
Snorkel’s 2006 single “Namikaze Satellite” became a hit as a theme song for the anime Naruto.
Although the band went on hiatus starting in 2010, they resumed activities in 2014.
