When it comes to rock stars from Tokushima, it has to be Su-Xing-Cyu (Shikoku no Hoshikuzu)! Even after their major-label debut, they’ve remained based in Tokushima Prefecture and are known for developing music activities rooted in their hometown.
Briefs and happi coats, cardboard crafts and comic songs—their musical style is full of quirks that invite plenty of playful critique.
Yet their love for Tokushima, and the love they receive from Tokushima, are on another level.
From Shikoku-wide tours to solo shows at halls in Tokushima, their activities as a rock band representing Shikoku are nothing short of impressive.
Letter ~To You at Fifteen~Anjura Aki

Angela Aki is memorable for performing piano-and-vocal sets in a raglan T-shirt and black-rimmed glasses.
She’s a singer-songwriter famous for the huge hit “Tegami: Haikei Jugo no Kimi e.” From her features and her name, you might get the impression she’s from overseas, but she’s actually from Itano Town in Itano District, Tokushima Prefecture.
She’s half Japanese and half Italian American.
She also wrote and composed “Furusato no Iro,” the theme song for NHK Shikoku, making her a musician who’s firmly rooted in her home region of Shikoku.
spring breezeSogabe Keiichi, Tanaka Takashi (Sanidii Saabisu)

Sunny Day Service is a band emblematic of the 1990s that rose to popularity with a core sound rooted in 1970s folk and rock.
Vocalist-guitarist Keiichi Sokabe, a member of the band, is from Sakaide City in Kagawa Prefecture, and bassist Takashi Tanaka is from Imabari City in Ehime Prefecture.
Centered around Keiichi Sokabe, Sunny Day Service formed in 1992 and made their major-label debut in 1994 with the EP “Hoshizora no Drive.” Although they disbanded in 2000, they reunited in 2008.
Starting in 2005, Keiichi Sokabe also began performing as the Keiichi Sokabe BAND, and as an individual he has been active in many forms of music, including production work and guest appearances.
Takashi Tanaka, known for his love of ramen, has even released a ramen book that he produced himself.

Alan Shirahama, a member of GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE who is also active as an actor, reportedly became interested in dance after seeing a performance by J Soul Brothers in Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture.
At 16, he took part in the first Gekidan EXILE audition and won a spot in the Gekidan EXILE Kaze-gumi.
However, he left the troupe at 19 and pursued the path of a dancer, which brings him to where he is today.
He is also active as a DJ.
Whether as a dancer, actor, or DJ, you can’t take your eyes off his activities.
ETERNAL BLAZEMizuki Nana

Nana Mizuki is a voice actress, singer, and narrator who is active across all fields.
Born in Niihama, Ehime Prefecture, she first made her debut as a voice actress in the 1998 PlayStation game NOeL ~La neige~.
Two years later, in 2000, she made her major debut as a singer with the single Omoi.
She went on to achieve major success as a singer with songs like Shin’ai and Mugen, and became the first voice actress to perform on the NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen.
As a voice actress, she has played many main characters in numerous works, including HeartCatch PreCure!, NARUTO, and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha.
Her wholehearted dedication to each of her roles as a voice actress, singer, and narrator has earned her a large fanbase.
The One and Only Flower in the WorldKusanagi Tsuyoshi

Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, a former member of the nationally beloved idol group SMAP.
He joined a talent agency in his first year of junior high school and soon after made his debut as a member of SMAP.
While working as part of the group, he continued to expand his activities, appearing on variety shows and moving into acting.
In 2017, after leaving the agency, he formed “Atarashii Chizu” (New Map).

ReplayLONGMAN

The male-female twin-vocal band LONGMAN hails from Ehime Prefecture.
Formed in 2012 by members of a university music club, they made their major debut in 2019 with the single “Wish on.” Their debut track immediately landed an anime tie-in, serving as the ending theme for BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS.
The band’s name comes from the English-Japanese dictionary “Longman.” Their bright, soaring vocals and energetic performance are striking, and when they switch to mid-tempo numbers, the change in the music’s character is another highlight to watch for.
