An Encouragement of the Humanitiestonerico

Tonerico is a parade pop band from Shimane Prefecture, consisting of three members: Kaji, King, and Hironori Matsuura.
Their appeal lies in bright, approachable yet deeply layered songs that blend a variety of elements on a pop foundation.
In 2022, they drew attention by winning an Excellence Award in the image song contest for “Anyway, I’ll End Up Falling in Love.” They are also active on TikTok, enjoying strong support from younger audiences, and in October 2024 they released a new song themed around literature.
A music video was also released, expanding their expressive range.
Based in the Kansai region, they have performed at MINAMI WHEEL, the circuit festival hosted by FM802.

Ultramarine DaysHadata Tsuji Iro (Tokyo Jihen)

Toshiki Hata, the drummer of Tokyo Jihen, nicknamed Tosshī.
His slightly bad-boy vibe is also undeniably cool.
He started out as a studio musician and has performed on numerous tours, including with Mika Nakashima.
Influenced by his father, a taiko drummer, he has been familiar with taiko since childhood—his skill is extraordinary.
Being left-handed, he uses a unique setup that produces flurries of notes and a tricky style.
He has been a member supporting Tokyo Jihen since its formative days.
You are not alone.Harada Shuji (Mukaikaze)

Shuji Harada, who played drums for the rock band Mukakaze, is from Yasugi City in Shimane Prefecture.
The band debuted with their first single, “Hitori Janai,” which became a long-running hit.
The song is also well known for being used in a Promise commercial.

STARYamane Marina

Marina Yamane, who is active as a singer-songwriter, is from Matsue City in Shimane Prefecture.
In 2012, she was appointed Public Relations Ambassador for the University of Shimane and commissioned as a Shimane PR envoy (Yatou-shi) to promote the prefecture.
Her song “STAR” was selected as the ending theme for the TBS program “Hanamaru Market,” marking her first tie-in track.

Kyoji Yamamoto is a guitarist from Matsue City.
As the leader of the rock band BOW WOW—which even joined Aerosmith on their Japan tour—he helped lead Japan’s rock scene.
He started playing guitar at 15, and in high school he formed a rock band with actor Shiro Sano and others.
He launched his solo career in 2010.
Later, he collaborated with Shiro Sano through works by Lafcadio Hearn (Koizumi Yakumo), and he has also jammed with artists from various genres.
His guitar sound, with its satisfying distortion, is irresistibly cool and captivating!

The YASUGI NO OJI, who is active in the San’in region, is from Yasugi City, Shimane Prefecture.
Their first album, “Raku,” topped the album hit chart in the San’in region for five weeks and also ranked number one on the year-end album hit chart.
“Mizu no Miyako ni Ame ga Furu,” included on “Raku,” was self-covered under the name Noguchi Atsushi.
Punky Blue KidsDNA GAINZ

DNA GAINZ is a band from Shimane Prefecture, known for their distinctive expression centered on the theme of “boyhood × punk.” Blending elements of punk and alternative rock, their energetic sound resonates with young listeners.
Their appearance at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL ’23’s ROOKIE A GO-GO—considered a gateway for new artists—drew significant attention.
On stage, their high-voltage performances captivate fans.
In the past, they’ve also shared the bill with Omoinotake—fellow Shimane natives known for “Ikuoku Kounen.” Their music, where defiance and innocence coexist, evokes the brilliance of youth.
