yoriko

Yoriko is a singer-songwriter from Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture.
She excels at the piano, and live performances with her singing and playing are her life’s work.
She began playing the piano after developing ovarian cancer at the age of two and encountering the instrument during her treatment.
When she was in junior high, one of her classmates was Asuka Fukuda, a former member of Morning Musume, who is known for rarely praising others’ singing—yet she praised Yoriko’s singing.
Kitamura Yū

Yuu Kitamura, who hails from the Oyamashi district of Tochigi Prefecture.
Since March 2013, after the dance unit FLAME disbanded, he has been active with the talk-vocal unit EMALF.
He has been appointed Oyama Furusato (Hometown) Ambassador, and alongside his music activities, he is also active as an actor and as a web model for Murasaki Sports.
Hashimoto Koji

Film director Koji Hashimoto, born in 1936, is from Ashikaga City in Tochigi Prefecture.
Are you all familiar with the 1984 science fiction film Sayonara Jupiter? That was Hashimoto’s directorial debut.
The story involves detonating Jupiter to save Earth, and the theme song was performed by Yumi Matsutoya.
DAICHI

Born in 1988 in Tochigi Prefecture, DAICHI is a dancer and performer who began dancing in childhood and even moved to Los Angeles at the age of 10.
He joined DA PUMP in 2008 and made his mark as a skilled performer specializing in hip-hop, vibes walk, and LA style.
In 2018, he delivered a memorable performance in a pink shirt for “U.S.A.,” greatly contributing to the group’s resurgence.
With his bright smile and charm, he became affectionately known as the “Pink Big Brother,” and continued to draw attention with his original choreography in the 2019 track “Sakura.” After graduating from the group in 2021, he has been dedicated to sharing the joy of dance with children, channeling the passion he cultivated in the entertainment world into education.

NAiL

NAiL is a female two-piece music unit from Tochigi Prefecture that carries out activities brimming with local pride.
Members Kozu and Rika are classmates from Sakushin Gakuin High School, and they formed this J-pop unit in May 2004.
They initially performed as a trio, releasing the self-produced work “Kokoro” in 2004 and “Uso” in 2005, before transitioning to the current duo lineup.
Loved as the junior counterparts of the comedy duo Uji Kōji, they also developed a locally focused idol project under the name “Ichigo Musume” in 2006, appearing at events such as Ninomiya Town’s Ichigo Matsuri in Tochigi and producing the song “Ichigo Kataomoi.” Although their musical journey began with simple humming, they quickly displayed their talent by creating their own songs, building a broad fan base through live performances mainly in Tochigi Prefecture and Tokyo.
With music that conveys a unique worldview and strong messages, they continue to move listeners.

VERY BERRY

VERY BERRY is a visual kei rock band formed in August 2014 by members from Tochigi Prefecture.
The four-piece, centered on Baku’s emotional vocals and Nao’s delicate yet powerful guitar work, left an impression with hard-edged sounds and lyrics that delve into themes of life’s pain and inner conflict.
From 2015 to 2017, they actively released works such as “quartet V,” “CLAP! CLAP!,” and “ache,” focusing on venue-limited sales and maintaining a close connection with their fans.
Although they went on hiatus in 2018, their passionate musicality continues to resonate with listeners.
Highly recommended for fans of Tochigi’s visual kei rock scene and emotive band sounds.
Utsuka Hiroyuki, Suzuki “choku” Naoya

Formed in Chiba Prefecture in 2002, the strange drama is a four-piece rock band led by Hiroyuki Uzuka and Naoya “choku” Suzuki from Tochigi Prefecture.
They began with the Chiba-only single “Natsu o Utau Hana” in 2005 and made their nationwide debut that November with the album “Sono Kinenbi ni Namae wa Nai.” In 2011, their download-only single “Meguriaeta Koto” was featured in a Keiyo Bank commercial, steadily building their career.
Although they are a four-man group, they have a distinctive aesthetic of always featuring a woman on their disc jackets, which leaves a strong impression.
In 2019, they reappeared at the Chiba LOOK 30th anniversary live, and they continue to be loved by many fans!
