I then competed in the final on July 17 the same year, won the grand prize, received offers from eight companies, and debuted under contracts with Geiei and Victor Records.

In 1973, he was the top seller of bromide photo cards for the year and, along with Hideki Saijo and Goro Noguchi, was dubbed one of the “New Big Three,” catapulting him into the ranks of top idols.
He continues to be active today across a wide range of fields as a singer, actor, and TV personality.

He is referred to, alongside Ichiro Mizuki and Isao Sasaki, as one of the “Big Three of Anison (anime songs),” due to having many hit songs for children’s and anime programs, including signature tracks such as “Swim! Taiyaki-kun” and “Let’s Go!! Rider Kick.” “Swim! Taiyaki-kun” was released in 1975 on Fuji TV’s children’s program Hirake! Ponkikki.

Space Battleship Yamatosasaki isao

A heavyweight in Japan’s anison (anime song) world.
Known as the “King of the Anime Song World” for numerous hits such as the signature songs Space Battleship Yamato and Galaxy Express 999, he is counted as one of the “Four Heavenly Kings of Anime Songs” alongside Ichiro Mizuki, Mitsuko Horie, and Kumiko Ōsugi.

Born in Akihabara as “idols you can go to meet,” they have now become a nationally beloved idol group.
Among the main members, Mako Kojima, Miyu Takeuchi, Nana Fujita, Ami Maeda, Minami Minegishi (no3b/No Sleeves), Miho Miyazaki, and Tomu Mutō are from Tokyo, and the first general manager who graduated, Minami Takahashi, is as well.
